You're missing the point. MMA guys fight dangerous fights all the time. From day one MMA fighters are in the ring with guys that they can lose to. It's a much higher and purer level of competition so teh chances of MMA having true super fights (like, between two unbeaten champs for example) is less liklely as the general comeptition they face is batter matched. The boxing model is to rack up 25-30 wins with almost zero chance of losing then put them in with another fighter with a similar record. So you invest a couple of years following a fighter fighting bums and then when they don't even make the fight it is infuriating. Pac V Floyd was teh last straw. That had the chance of being the biggest superfight ever at one time and they blew it. The business of boxing won out over the actual ethos of sporting competition. I got sick of seeing the latest prospect emerge then having to wait 3-5 years to see them in the ring with an opponent that actually has a chance to beat them. Any MMA card has at least 3 or 4 supporting fights on it that will be genuine pick em fights with a lot on the line like a step up to a title challenge or the possibility of getting cut. You get the odd mismatch in MMA but usually only when the org is short of options, in boxing it's part of the landscape.
MMA undercards have been pretty **** lately. 159 sucked really bad. 151 was canceled because the undercard was so bad. Mares vs Ponce and Rasado vs Love on the undercard of tonights ppv are great fights.
Boxing is for those that dismiss anything about real fighting, and want to watch a violent game of tag.
