It's not just the big 4. Hardly anyone else is fighting in HW.

HW division right now = :hang

Heavyweight boxing is dead regardless. Its just poor all the way around, lacks interest and I blame a lot of it on this super heavyweight nonsense. These guys are just plain big, slow and boring. They don't have much in the way of skills beyond throwing the biggest haymaker the world has ever seen. The only exception is Usyk, but one person isn't enough to hold up an entire division.

What needs to happen to generate interest is to go back to the smaller heavies where everyone was still incredibly strong, but also are rather fast and more focused on skills. We need a bigger variety for the sizes of heavies out there instead of having everyone be as big as possible for no reason and it would certainly help if there was just more variety in talent. It'd also help if there were more of them with stronger personalities to attract a bigger audience and were just more willing to fight. Atleast fight more than once a year. When you fight that little or less, that's when people lose interest and forget about you.

Just my 2 cents, but this isn't necessarily an issue limited to the big 4 or 5 if you want to count in Usyk. Its a division-wide issue.

AJ Wilder is all that matters and if AJ can win will setup a Fury fight for next year.

Usyk will get obliterated if Fury shows up but will be fun whilst it lasts.

Well two of the fights have already happened.... Fury v Wilder and Usyk v AJ so we're half way there.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the alphabet bodies declare bankruptcy in the next couple decades as the sport loses fans everyday. The big fights never happen and the casuals lost interest years ago. DAZN is a flop and the whole boxing scene seems dead.

Clearly it is, that's why we've had 20-30 solid fights in the month of May and we're only 15 days in. Rumors of boxing's demise have been greatly exaggerated.... for years, now quit being such a casual.

When Spence Vs Crawford or Fury Vs Usyk happens then talk to me about these so called “Solid fights”. The fights we’ve had so far are not solid there pointless fights that had nothing on the line.

Like I said, learn more about the sport... stop being such a casual and a wannabe elitist. Real boxing fans get just as excited by the prospect of seeing Fillipus Nghitumbwa vs. John Riel Casimero, as they do something like Benavidez vs. Plant. If you find yourself incapable of being excited to watch a fight, if the men in the ring, don't have "names" then maybe this sport isn't for you.

That’s like saying your not a real football fan if you don’t watch League two mid table clashes. (I don’t know an example for an American sport)

That hapens when "boxing fans" cheer and glorify fake ducking champions like Wilder, Fury and Joshua. They were not, and still arent real champ, but business decions.

Being a champ meant being the best, right now, even top 10 isnt better than most of the guys in upper 20-50s, it is just a matter of buisiness. Jake Paul could as well become heavyweight champ and people will still belive it.

Pro boxing has become a **** show, occasionally a very high grossing **** show but none the less it's still a **** show. Us fans will always appreciate a good fight but the game is infested with corruption and greed. Much like society in general, the powers that be flaunt that **** in our faces.

Its never going to be "over" but it hasnt had consistent mainstream interest for a long time and probably never will again.

It's been on life-support for a long time. Yes, boxing now is dead to me anyway. There are several reasons the sport decayed. All the networks that aired boxing disappeared. No more USA Tuesday Night Fights, no more ESPN, even HBO stopped having boxing. That tells you everything you need to know. Mixed martial arts seemed to get more popular and that's all anyone seems interested in now.

When boxing was on HBO, the fights were getting worse and worse. It was usually Alvarez fighting some no-hoper. Then when there was a decent matchup you wanted to see, it was straight to pay-per-view for ridiculous prices. $100 or more to see Mayweather fight some jerk from the mixed martial arts, sorry, no thanks, don't insult me. If people purchased that stupid ****, they were dumber than a bag of rocks.

    All that ruined boxing.
