Last time Hughie stepped down he put in an exciting performance. I don't think tonight will be a bad watch.

We’re suffering from a lack of top talent and investment.

As Jamzy pointed out we’ve lost big names in Degale, Groves, Bellew just last year alone, Brook sold his soul and has went missing since, Fury went missing for a few years, Saunders just flitters about, Selby and Framtpon have proven they’re time has come, Flanagan had inflated ranking with the WBO got a world title and defended against nobodies then when he needed to stop up to a half decent challenge got found out and I keep going.

Then the added factor of the lack of money in UK boxing meaning our top fighters are having to go over there generally. I think this has been the problem for the newer fighters, the Okolie’s, Yarde’s, Ritson’s and Buatsi’s. We’re urging them to push on when they’re not necessarily ready.

The likes of Fowler, Cheeseman, OD, Zelfa Barrett etc have found out the hard way.

    We need the likes of

    Dubois
    Gorman
    Yarde
    Buatsi
    Catterall
    Okolie
    Fowler
    Fitzgerald
    Cheeseman
    Hutchinson
    Williams
    Cordina
    Kelly
    Ritson

To come good. They’re the future of British boxing for the next 5 years or so they’re the ones who are going to be providing our Saturday night shows. Hopefully they step up and when they do and the time is right their respective broadcasters invest in them or they’ll be off to America too.

    Spot on

An absolutely terrifying reality if UK promoters do not match and build them in the correct way

Its hard as with so many retiring the pressure is on to give big fights
But as shown with Cheeseman and co its a huge risk thst can set a boxer back years and also the business

    Hearns a good promoter
I hope he is passionate about the UK scene as it really it in his hands and to an extent Warren's

Hearn going to America has been a negative on the british shows.

Never mind big bad Mick Hennesy to the rescue

In fairness we need promoters like Mick
Gives boxers another place to work
And a place for talent to hopefully develop

Come on, Nasal, twice now i’ve seen you calling someone a mong. Not a fan of that word myself. You’ve been arguing with a few people on here lately because of opposing opinions. Try and go in a little bit softer, mate.

i mean just look at that list. No personalities what so ever. Buatsi and Yarde are the only two who the casuals would be interested in. Also when it comes to Yarde and his trainer, there’s only so much you can take from their delusions and cringeworthyness.

The future for British Boxing doesn’t look great. Hearn won’t be showing the same passion as he did for the UK as he once did. He’s done his job in the UK and now it’s time for the big apple. Joshua v Wilder (if and when it happens) the first fight looks 99% likely to be in the U.S.

Joshua v Fury won’t be happening anytime soon. If you’re a boxing fan who wants good fights at peak 10pm time, you are in for a horrible year. Get used to Whyte v bums on PPV and more PPV garbage like Lomachenko v Campbell. Get used to recycled fighters like Chisora/Big daddy browne for the umpteenth time on saturday headline cards.

Also Won’t be long till Sky test out Katie Taylor for PPV “equality” purposes. I can already see them with their propoganda advertising on the Joshua-Ruiz card.

    Fowler vs Fitzgerald (Sky)
    Maxwell vs Sediri (BT)
The only two ‘free to air’ fights i can think of this year which have stood out as exciting / competitive bouts.
