The better it is,the less people appreciate it.(george Foreman)

Its why some people cant understand the kinds of Mayweather,Rigondeaux,Pernell Whitaker.
It makes jazz and boxing alike...dont expect everyone to like Louis Armstrong,Duke Ellington,Dizzy Gillespie.

I thought the casual fans who dont understand may or sweat peas style would of gone to watch MMA but they just linger around like a bad smell. Very good quote

Good analogy. You must've been sitting in traffic on the Dolphin to come up with that one. Very true.

One of my favorite quotes. But I would associate it more with virtuosos like Charlie Parker, John Coltrane who are way harder to listen to than Louis Armstrong.

It's like in boxing, the more technical, colorful and improvised it gets; the better it is.

    Bull**** quote.

I understand what Foreman was trying to say but that's a terrible analogy.

Yeah, I used to think it was a great quote. But just think about it... who appreciate crappy jazz better than great jazz? Maybe some people do. I get the point of the quote, though. Maybe "boxing is like jazz, the better it is the more underappreciated it is" is better phrased. I'm probably just being a stickler now.

a whole lot of people appreciate Floyd's skillset. Even many of those who hate him for his personality. Just saying. I think some other fighters have a much more subtle skillset.

if boxing is like jazz, Mayweather is like a rapper. (not really but you get the idea)

Great boxing is like Jazz. Sometimes you gotta improvise and change up the tempo.

as a jazz musician and boxing fan there's some truth to it. but every one loves duke, dizz, and armstrong. they are like the ticket sellers in boxing. the pacs, pbf, dlh. now if your talking about cecil taylor, ornette coleman and people like that then those peopel are very good and underappreaciated like the winky wrights, or chris byrds.
