Paul turned pro when he was just turned 18 , he went to a see a couple managers (pro) and then decided wht was best for him at that point in time , he was ayoung guy from scotland and it was only logical that bein from scotland to sign wi a scottish manager thus bein he signed with tommy gilmour , there was no meetings with the BBBofC but paul had a llong amateur record so not sure if this means he didnt have to go through meetings and stuff , my knowledge is nil n void about this , but he did fight for the british title at 20 so dont think there is a statutory age to fite for it there was years ago but am assumin it changed , best option i would suggest would be to contact the BBBofC for information about wantin to go pro 02920367000 that is the telephone number they will give u all the help and information u need also u can go on the BBBofC website and u can download the rule book for further information and there are answers to most questions u may have , hope this helps u out a bit if anything i have wrrote on here is incorrect i do apologize !!!!
