In boxing promoters have influence and an agenda with fighters they try to milk for money. Most people think that only Don King is corrupt, but I have seen fans take things that guys like Arum (another promoter) say as serious points about a fight or a fighter's accomplishments.

Always be wary of what promoters tell you. They are doing business and will lie to fans.

People pick and choose what they want to believe from promoters insofar as it suits their agenda. That's how it is and always will be.

Personally, I choose to believe that Don King genuinely wants to make Floyd vs. Pacquiao happen, but not for any altruistic reasons. It's because he wants as much money as he can get and I'm fine with him getting it if he brings this fight to the fans.

Amazing info! So promoters are in the game to make cash? It all makes sense now.

Don't tell anyone else, you're on to something.....

Not everyone knows these things. It may be simple to you, but it is simply not understood.

    Yes!

I remember Arum had people believing he was just a regular honest Joe, "honestly" talking about Mayweather. Everyone in the room believed it and cheered it.

To them he was just a guy with the guts to tell it like it was.
