If Canelo's drawing power takes a hit in any way, then yeah boxing lost tonight alongside him. I think it gives the fans a reminder hopefully that losing is a part of boxing, and that one of the most intriguing things about the sport is to see a legend's response to losing a fight. Does it reignite the fire? Does it put the nail in the coffin of one's career? Let's see....

When you go up and up and up and up in weight fighting always the champions sooner or later you will lose. That's not a big deal.

 

Then boxing should have died after Floyd..Oh wait it didn't. It's not about just selling the PPV , it's about putting on quality fights. There are som many good fights to be made. Spence Crawford for instance. You make it sound like Canelo's 2 fights a year somehow props up boxing. It doesn't. The other boxers don't make a damn dime of his PPV.

 

Dude I’m the biggest Canelo fan and even I say your pushing it outside of Mayweather every great fighter has had a close debatable decision or a loss. It’s not about a loss it’s about who you fight and how you lose. Less than 20 fighters in boxing history have become legitimate 4 division Champs Canelo has unifed 154,60,&68 him not being able to beat the best or 2nd best at 175 ain’t really a big deal it’s divisions for a reason

Boxing won tonight. Canelo got exposed for the careful selection of opponents he's done the last 5-6 years. Unlike the guys at 168, Bivol had enough power to keep Canelo off him and he wasn't near 40.
