I was in Borders today buying a book for Christmas for my mom.....and of course found my way wandering by the magazine section. There were 6 MMA magazines and 0 boxing magazines, not even "The Ring" my friends. The guy who worked there said he hasn't seen the ring in a few years and the MMA ones sell decently. Why the hell do you think this is? What can Oscar do to turn this around??

I see The Ring Magazine when I go to the city in stores like Barnes and Nobles, but in and around the small towns I live in, there are no boxing magazines. There's MMA though. Unfortunate, I remember about 5 years ago there used to be The Ring at a small town local grocery store, but it is there no more.

I live in England and I have to order The Ring in, yet there's an array of American MMA mags - though the British boxing mags are there.

Perhaps its because more people do a martial art and for most boxing is just a spectator sport? Yet if I go into a book store there's tonnes on boxing but next to nil on MMA, strange.

Yeeeup.... i commented on this a year or so ago on how my magazine store was slowly getting rid of their boxing mags and getting mma ones. When before (around 2004) there was about 4 boxing mags, and 1 to 2 mma mags

Now... there is only the Ring left, and the other places i go dont even have THAT.

but no, nobody continue to panic... its the economy, or its a fad, boxing isnt in trouble and its not dying or getting weaker.

but back to reality for a second, we need to realise theirs a problem before we can fix it, i have already talked to the people that manage the store and continually ask for boxing mags lol... i hope oscar can turn this around bigtime, but the problem is boxing is not as popular, so why would they sell it?

    sucks but its reality.

    Boxing needs to change.

Infern0 you might be lucky you can't find Ring anymore. As a reader for the past 25 years, I can tell you it's really gone downhill. The last issue cost almost 9$ and was just awful. The past issues have not been much better. It's so bad, I'm not buying it anymore.

They charge 145 $ a year to send The Ring Magazine to Europe..
And 55 $ a year if you live in the US...

    I Dont get it... ???

Anyway... boxing monthly is a much better magazine, and U get one year for 50 £....
