I admire his ambition. If you're an accomplished amatuer, like both these guys are, you should step up the competition sooner rather than later.

I don't know what the prospects are of two young, promising, unbeaten prospects facing of is but I'd love it to happen.

Dunky, I spoke to Craig yesterday and he tells me that his manager, Billy Keane, is actively involved in trying to make this happen. It seems Jacobs had a hand injury but , a few weeks ago, it was "95% healed" so it seems to me that a bout in March or April is easily doable. However it seems there are still negative noises coming out of his camp so if Danny ends up fighting someone else in the Spring, we know what`s happened!
As you know, Craig doesn`t talk himself up, but others at The Wildcard are telling me that he is sparring better than ever. He`s been helping a young light middleweight called Shawn Porter, who`s up against a tall opponent soon, and according to some of the coaches in the gym, Craig has been "awesome"(their word!). It seems Freddy Roach, who is also part of Craig`s management team, is keen to get him in the ring ASAP but with Angulo apparently turning him down again and now Danny Jacobs prevaricating,they`re is becoming a bit frustrated. Craig and Freddy have a "fight anyone" philosophy, but Golden Boy, understandably, want to take things more slowly, so we`ll just have to be patient.
The big fights will come , and when they do, you can be sure that Craig will make Scotland proud.

 

****ing hell GBP and Roach should get him on the Haye vs Ruiz bill and pay whatever it takes to get any British fighter in the opposition corner. Us Brits need to see him fight live. I want this kid to do great and want to see him fight someone of a decent level. Get Elcock, McDermott...Murray is still hiding in the Hatton camp so he will not fight, get El Maachie, hell even get someone like Bendall or Samuels...maybe even Kreshnik Qato. Just bring him over and put in an available ok opponent.

 

Craig McEwan needs to shift up a gear and get motoring on. At 27 he probably thinks himself he should be a bit further down the road.

 

So you praise McEwan for calling out Jacobs (which at this moment in time is unproven), but you're not willing to credit Barker for callling out Macklin (which he has)?
You really need to get over this Darren Barker obsession.
