In reality, if you weren't to include Mike Tyson in the HOF you'd literally have to get rid of the vast majority of its inductees.

Jack Broughton, John L. Sullivan, Robinson, Ali...in terms of impact there really isn't that many more who had the same kind of impact that Mike Tyson has had.

I've heard you say this before. Is this your view of the youtube generation, teeto? The casuals in the general? Are you just taking all of that in account? Surely, not in the classic.

Do you say this, to be objective as possible because he's your favorite fighter? Not to appear that way to others. I just mean to yourself. I can understand that emotion, if true.

TEETO i Agree hypejob Tyson is overrated, But not teh most overrated anymore, like he was before Holyfeild raped him. In general forum, most/ v.nearly all of teh casual boxing fans there do always pick VitKlit And WladKlit to **** And KO Tyson prime-4-prime. So if most mainstream casual boxing fans online choose teh Klit Sisters to **** Tyson, then i make Tyson no.3 most overrated heavy after teh Klits.

No I'll explain just to make myself more clear Pete. I don't say it to be objective and or to counterbalance my favouritism towards him, that isn't necessary because I'm simply not a biased person/fan. I was a big fan of Antonio Margarito and Marco Antonio Barrera, but that doesn't lead me to be irrational when rating their ability, I just liked them, nothing more, nothing less.

First of all I want to establish the bona fide fact that the words 'underrated' and 'overrated' are misused constantly in all walks of life. People use the word 'underrated' for example when in fact they mean 'under appreciated'. For example, Charley Burley is an under appreciated fighter (it's still only the hardcore that know of him by large) but he is not underrated. Anyone that knows of him rates him. In fact there are some that feel that he has become overrated. What I'm trying to convey is that how a fighter is rated means **** all to do with how many people rate him. It is a ratio thing. It goes by how many people rate him high in relation to how many people know of him. Charley Burley is under appreciated, but not underrtaed. Now Mike Tyson is known by everybody, plain and simple. And there are masses of people, masses of fans, masses of hardcore fans, that consistently claim he is the best of heavyweight of all time at his peak.

There we have it, Mike Tyson is quite simply the most overrated fighter of all time. I won't get it into specifics unless you ask me to. I'll leave it at that for the time being. I'm an objective fan, I feel very strongly that he is overrated. I love him and that is a totally seperate issue. The reason I love Tyson is because even though I'm not quite old enough to remember him in his prime (although I was alive), he was a hero to kids where I'm from, everybody loved him, everybody came together when he fought. My dad would get the fight on the tv, we'd stay up late, I'd fall asleep, he'd wake me up and we'd watch it. Him and my mum would tell me about the prime Tyson and that I should have seen how good he was etc. Sometimes all my friends would watch Tyson fights with me. I love Tyson because of memories, it's got **** all to do with my rating of him, they don't correlate at all.

Pete I never specified where Tyson was being overrated. By no means was I taking a personal jab at anyone in this forum or any classic regular poster if that's what you're worried about.

    Agreed.

Prime Tyson of 87/88 beats all those guys IMO, you cant take away what a fighter was at his best just because of what he became later on.
