That is gold. Isn't Joe described as wearing a purple cowboy hat and shirt during that drive?

"He was dressed in his lemon-yellow cowboy outfit; yellow shirt, tan Texas hat, brown boots, yellow striped pants." - page 266

How about any time a fighter is heavily favored to win a fight, then he loses and people try to say later that "he was shot", or some other BS excuse?

    Tyson against Douglas
    Tyson against Holyfield
    Fenech against Nelson
    Curry against Honeygan
    Roy Jones against Tarver
    Roy against Glen Johnson
Barrera against Hamed (the first time)
    Hamed against Barrera
    Chandler against Sandoval

    ...and so on.

The myths about Jeffries's fantastic exploits tend to get a bit Baron von Muchhausen-esque at times.

I mean, ok that he built The Hoover Dam with his bare hands. But in one afternoon? Call me a revisionist, but I just don't buy it.

    That one is certainly possible.

There is a significant body of contemporary testimony to back it up.

I am not saying it definitely happened but you want to keep an open mind.
