I'd say Wilder is good simply going by WK's high praise of him after having him over for his main sparring partner prior to the Wach fight

 

He also tipped Fury and Price so I assume you must agree with that also.

I have a feeling Audley might do it. He has superior skills to the Wild man. Its just a question of heart, that is what might let Auds down.

 

Wlad is too safety first in his approach and will drag out fights when he's obviously superior to his opponent and could finish them off much sooner. There has been nobody capable of pushing him and forcing him to break his style and go full out to knock the other guy out.

Vitali, since beating Peter, has fought a dismal list of opponent none of whom had any chance of beating him. Literally the best opponents he's faced since Peter are Arreola, Adamek and Chisora - one blown up crusierweight and two plodders. To Vitali's credit he was involved in the last competitive super fight against Lewis but other than that the most entertaining fight he's had from a neutral perspective is against Sanders, and that's not a spectacular return for over 40 fights.

Whether its because they're too good for the other heavyweights out there or whatever the fact is that Klitschko fights are generally dull and not the competitive fights that we used to see like Holyfield/Bowe or Ali/Fraizer. The fact that in a decade of the Klitschko's dominence we've only seen one such fight between them must be considered one of the defining reasons why so many think the heavyweight scene dead.

 

I respect their opinions and wont argue for one minute that their opinions dont carry more weight than mine, but I still think its a bull**** excuse. Again, I want to see a list of all the great amature American heavyweight boxers in the last decade or so who went to the NFL or NBA instead of persuing a career in boxing before I'm even slightly convinced about it.

 

You completely missed the point both Manny & Teddy were making:

Kids don't become amateur boxers, then switch to football or basketball. They never box, period, for several obvious (and already stated) reasons.

 

Aside from this wall of text being another repetition of the same old blabber about how much we hate the brothers, it also doesn't answer my post in a bit.

 

Which make their point entirely unprovable and simply conjecture, which in turn makes it an excuse for current inadequecies and nothing more.

I could equally come on here and say that the failure of Britain to produce boxers of the highest quality in most weight divisions is down to the talent going into different sport. It might have some value to it, it might even be true, but its not provable.

The only way it would be provable would be to be able to cite example of promising amature boxers giving up the sport for different ones where they could get paid better without having to get beaten up to do it.

All these sportsmen in the NFL or NBA might be great atheletes but that's not proof they could be great boxers. You might as well say: "America's next great heavyweight is sitting at home on his fat ass watching TV all day because he cant be bothered to make something of this life." Ok. That would have less validity than saying other professional sports are taking the talent but it would be just as provable.

 

Except I didn't say I hate them. I said they dont produce exiting fights. I even said it could be down to the weakness of their opposition. And what the heavyweight scene is missing is exciting fights.
