Which is a problem at the moment. Hopefully Cotto can do something about it. If Cotto can get to a position where people are seriously saying he's P4P#1 then it will force Mayweather to act and start fighting some meaningful fights.
Does it? :? I'd be quite happy if he ****ed off, unless he actually shows signs of doing something relevant and meaningful
Yes it does, he's seen as the best fighter in the world who can create the most eagerly anticipated fights out there. He holds the aces with Margarito/Cotto, they need and want it more than him.....Cotto could change that hopefully. No offence to Calzaghe, but having him as P4P#1 would be a sad day for boxing, which would be the situation if Floyd did **** off for good at the moment.
must be sad not to like and enjoy the best boxer out there.... floyd is a special person... but all the **** he speaks....he backs it all up... meaningful fight!!!! i guess hatton is more competive than a contender guy called gomez... PRETTY BOY FLOYD IS TOP OF THE POP.....
:good Agreed. I would prefer an active p4p champ, one that at least intends to take the most meaningful fights out there. In essence, Boxing doesnt "need" Floyd, it needs champions, and ones that act like them. Fighting once a year against someone he already beat, to then possibly fight someone else he already beat??? No thanks, he is actually hindering Boxing.
When Manny P starts knocking out everyone and their uncle at Lightweight he will move into No.1 slot, not Joe C. In fact he is already ahead. If you compare their two records it doesn't make pretty reading for Joe.
Well if Cotto beats Maragrito surely that's the Welterweight division cleaned up for Cotto bar Mayweather, the only other logical fight is Mayweather, way more logical than the meaningless Hatton rematch. Cotto vs Mayweather would be big no doubt about it.
No, it is a sad day for boxing when the p4p #1 is in 'semi-retirement', only pursues money making matchups that have no relevance, and fails to defend or unify his belt
Do you think Oscar de la Hoya is a successful boxer, or not? :think And how can Mayweather be a cherrypicker if he has the one of the best resumes in the sport today?
Boxing needs someone to defeat Floyd more than it needs him to keep winning. Once he loses his "0" he won't be able to fill a school basketball gym with people unless his opponent is a crowd fav. I would say Money is prob the most hated P4P ever? Personaly I think dude is a Great Fighter.
