Boxing needs instant replay to avoid further fiascoes like Pac-algieri

    There were about four times algieri went down either from being pushed or from slipping on the wet canvas. Roy jones jr, kellerman, even lampley all made mention of it. They wanted to give the ref the benefit of the doubt so they weren't too harshly critical. but it was clear that there was a lotta concern the ref was incompetent. in that case, there should be the option for the officials to review the KD...every major sport uses instant replay. basketball, football, soccer, tennis...why not boxing? If ever there was an argument for instant replay in boxing this fight was it. it's high time boxing caught up with the rest of the world.

    Things like this leave a really bad taste even in longtime fans like myself who recognize that boxing is such of a ****py sport in so many ways. The only reason I still watch is because i've been watching since I was a kid....But for those new to boxing, it might help to bring more fans to the sport who get turned off when they see a blatant injustice been perpetrated in fights like this.

    Agreed......it would have also helped to give Manny the stoppage over Chris.

    I agree. When Judah dropped Mayweather early in their fight it was ruled a slip when the reply showed it wasn't.:think

    fight would have taken a different pattern if the first three KD's had been ruled as slips or pushes which is what they were.

    ref was incompetent as fck.
    Algieri didn't make the 8 count. - KO
    ref got in the way of a Pac onslaught (i think he also got his hand hit by Pac) - TKO
    and Ray Charles has better eyesight than you.

    Time delay will make an advantage for the fighter who's ahead on points and bad for the fighter catching that is behind by points. But its also good for both fighters to have enough time to rest.

    Nah man.....Chris was utilizing the same strategy the entire fight....even after the slips, knock downs and eating a healthy serving of Manny's leather.

    He SHOULD have altered his strategy to at least attempt to go for the win.....but of course he was in survival mode and running to make it 12 like a lot of opponents do with Manny.

    2 slips and 4 legit KD's.......Chris definitely would have brought ALL the "slips" to light if there were more than the 2 he mentioned.
