In my opinion, I think Boxing needs to be on major TV stations. NBC Sports is not good enough. Why not put Boxing on NBC the main channel and USA Network? Plus I think we need to cut down on Boxing PPVs. Put the main fights on free TV. I think only big stars like Floyd should be on PPV. Canelo doesn't need to be on PPV yet. So, tell me your thoughts. Should Boxing be on major networks like USA Network and CBS?

To many fights on ppv isn't good for boxing so more quality fights on normal tv is a must

Agreed because it will draw new people to the sport.

Some people don't have premium channels.

Something a lot of people dont realize, is that a handful of megacorps and marketing firms basically control what gets on TV. Sure network execs make the actual decisions... and they cater those decisions to what the folks with the advertising dollars want to see.

Boxings demographics really suck in the eyes of major marketing firms. In addition to shifting a bit younger, boxing needs a fan presence in the heartland , upper west coast, and shallow south before Big Advertising even thinks about putting up the kind of money needed to hold real cards on free tv.

I think moving it to on demand platform will do it good. That stuff is the future.

Some people do not get it, the reason boxing is not on free to air television is simple they cannot pay the money fighters expect, only premium cable can put up that type of money. Top of the level boxing will always only be on premium cable in the United States because of the money factor. Small shows like ESPN, NBC sports, Fox sports one can survive with their small budgets because of the viewers know what they're getting.

There getting up in coming fighters or all B and C level fighters and the shows do not cost that much money to make. Get over it, this is the way it's going to be for the foreseeable future. I think there will be a reduction in pay per view boxing but the basic structure of the television networks that cover boxing will pretty much remain the same in the next 10 years in my opinion.
