In MMA its the fans who choose the fights. Dana White go by polls to see who the fans want to see fight and makes the fights. Why can't boxing be that way? Boxing fans need to protest or boxing revenue will continue to decline as more and more people spend their money on UFC instead. BTW I love boxing as a sport but I hate the politics of boxing. Its bull****.

Boxers are free agents or they hire promoters/managers to do the rest for them, all they need to do is train and prepare. They're not enslaved to one owner like MMGay telling them who and when to fight based on whatever. If a boxer is stupid he will sign a contract where he's fully enslaved with no other options.

because it's all about the money.... boxing is a business... while boxers do care about what the fans want if it's not lucrative to both boxers it's a no go....

Oh yes boxers are enslaved. Are you unaware of the games promotors play? Boxers don't choose who they fight, promotors do.

Even if they went with fan picked fights there will still be the same corruption involved.

Perhaps what we need is a fighter who is already wealthy, thus not in it for the money.

Then again, isn't Floyd already wealthy? What is his excuse?

he needs to cash out as it's time to retire... so he may be rich but wants to be richer before leaving the support

Apples and Oranges. Dana White, more specifically, Zuffa inc controls UFC entirely. UFC fighters are UFC employees. If you don't fight when they say you do, barring an injury, you break the contract.

Nobody controls boxing. SHO and HBO have some say as they put on the biggest venues but even then politics is involved.

And you wonder why boxing revenue is way down as MMA becomes more and more popular. If you want to see boxing die so be it.
