Part 1 https://boxingnewsonline.net/the-power-list-part-i-50-to-26/ Part 2 https://boxingnewsonline.net/the-power-list-part-ii-25-to-1/ This is just a love letter to his excrementcy. Also Frank Smith out ranking Mike Tyson is a bit of a head scratcher
Yea, its a pointless article that noone cares about apart from the people in it, their friends and family. A rare miss from the normally excellent Boxing News.
Eddie not at number 1? Arum and Warren ahead of him? I hope someone mentions this in an interview. Not that any of this matters, but would be funny to see how his ego takes it.
Why would Mike Tyson be influential these days? I get that he's got a podcast but it's not exactly Joe Rogan levels of popularity and needs a co-host because Tyson makes little sense these days. As for the top 50, there's no doubt "his Excellency" has the most influence in boxing just now - beyond dispute. Some of the other names and positions are ridiculous. Shalom being ranked as high as he is? Substitute his name for "Sky Sports" and it might be more accurate.
Granted he doesn't hold power but the list is influential characters and to this day he definitely still carries significant weight. Remember the PR frenzy when he was supposedly training N'Gannou for Fury
That kind of tells you the number-one spot for "his Excellency" was correct. Without Saudi making a carnival out of things Tyson wouldn't have been anywhere near it. No doubt he's still a big name with intrigue around him, in the mainstream as well as in boxing - but he has no real influence on boxing itself.
Ben Shalom at 18 ahead of Mauricio Suliman president of the WBC at 25? I stopped reading right there. Awful.
