Boxing News magazine did an article on their 20 most wanted fights of 2014. Obviously with the politics in boxing only about 5 of them have any chance of happening but hypothetically if they did take place, what would be your predictions of each of these fights?

    20. Sergio Martinez vs. Gennady Golovkin @Middleweight
    19. Marcos Maidana vs. Lucas Matthysee @Weltwerweight
    18. Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury @Heavyweight
    17. Guillermo Rigondeaux vs. Vaysl Lomachenko @Featherweight
    16. Marcos Maidana vs. Ruslan Provodnikov @Welterweight
    15. Roman Gonzalez vs. Juan Francisco Estrada II @Flyweight
    14. Amir Khan vs. Adrien Broner @Welterweight
    13. Sergio Martinez vs Miguel Cotto @Middleweight
    12. Vaysl Lomachenko vs Orlando Salido @Featerweight
    11. Guillermo Rigondeaux vs. Leo Santa Cruz @Jr Featherweight
    10. Danny Garcia vs. Timothy Bradley @Welterweight
    09. Wladimir Klitschko vs. Deontay Wilder @Heavyweight
    08. Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao @Welterweight
    07. Mikey Garcia vs. Yuriorkis Gamboa @Jr Lightweight
    06. Scott Quigg vs. Carl Frampton @Jr Featherweight
    05. Carl Froch vs. George Groves II @Super Middleweight
    04. Miguel Cotto vs. Saul Alvarez @Jr Middleweight

    Mine:

    20. Sergio Martinez vs. Gennady Golovkin @Middleweight

Martinez is probably not as shot as his last fight suggested. But I still think Golovkin stops Martinez late but he doesn't go down with a fight

    19. Marcos Maidana vs. Lucas Matthysee @Weltwerweight

Matthysse stops Maidana in the mid to late rounds

    18. Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury @Heavyweight

One things for sure it's not going the distance and it depends who lands the first bomb. I'd go for Wilder to land first due to his fast and Fury often slow starts.

    17. Guillermo Rigondeaux vs. Vaysl Lomachenko @Featherweight

Hard to predict without seeing much of Loma in the pro ranks so right now I'm thinking Rigondeaux UD

    16. Marcos Maidana vs. Ruslan Provodnikov @Welterweight

I think there is more steel to Provodnikov than Maidana so he would be my prediction.

    15. Roman Gonzalez vs. Juan Francisco Estrada II @Flyweight

Gonzalez takes it again over 12 hard fought rounds.

    14. Amir Khan vs. Adrien Broner @Welterweight

Easiest one to predict outside of Klitschko v Wilder (not because of the winner because of the method of victory). Khan wins every round and stops Broner late when he taking to many punches to his gormless dome.

    13. Sergio Martinez vs Miguel Cotto @Middleweight

Martinez with a hard fought late rounds stoppage.

    12. Vaysl Lomachenko vs Orlando Salido @Featerweight

Lomachenko passes a gut check in the fight and makes history

    11. Guillermo Rigondeaux vs. Leo Santa Cruz @Jr Featherweight

    Rigondeaux
    masterclass

    10. Danny Garcia vs. Timothy Bradley @Welterweight

Bradley in a surprisingly wide decision.

    09. Wladimir Klitschko vs. Deontay Wilder @Heavyweight

Klitschko by KO within 4 rounds

    08. Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao @Welterweight

    Mayweather close but clear UD.

    07. Mikey Garcia vs. Yuriorkis Gamboa @Jr Lightweight

Garcia late stoppage or fairly wide UD.

    06. Scott Quigg vs. Carl Frampton @Jr Featherweight

Frampton by razor close points win.

    05. Carl Froch vs. George Groves II @Super Middleweight

Fight starts off slower this time with Froch more weary and Groves wanted to conserve something for the later rounds, but that favors Froch and he stops Groves (legit this time) late.

    04. Miguel Cotto vs. Saul Alvarez @Jr Middleweight

    Alvarez by close/controversial decision.

    03. Adonis Stevenson vs. Sergey Kovalev @Light Heavyweight

Kovalev KO in the first two rounds

    02. Manny Pacquiao vs. Ruslan Provodnikov @Welterweight

Pacquiao wins and much to people's surprise Provodnikov only does slightly better than Rios.

    01. Floyd Mayweather vs. Gennady Golovkin @Middleweight

Probably hardest one to predict, as it's the ultimate high skilled game of cat and mouse. At 154 I'd take Mayweather on points, but at 160, where the magazine has deemed this fight to take place, I'd take Golovkin by stoppage.

    I think probably 5 or 6.

I would say we almost defiantly see Loma v Salido (already scheduled) and Martinez v Cotto (almost a done deal).

I would also predict we see Gonzalez v Estrada II and Froch v Groves II.

    Then one or two of Pac-Provo, Stevenson-Kovalev, Canelo-Cotto, Quigg-Frampton, Gamboa-Garcia, Khan-Broner, Maidana-Lucas and Martinez-GGG.

The rest I don't see much chance of happening.

    20. Sergio Martinez vs. Gennady Golovkin @Middleweight
    Golovkin
    19. Marcos Maidana vs. Lucas Matthysee @Weltwerweight
    Matthysee
    18. Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury @Heavyweight
hmm... Battle of the glass... Gonna go with Wilder though.
    17. Guillermo Rigondeaux vs. Vaysl Lomachenko @Featherweight
    Rigo
    16. Marcos Maidana vs. Ruslan Provodnikov @Welterweight
    Provodnikov
    15. Roman Gonzalez vs. Juan Francisco Estrada II @Flyweight
    Gonzalez
    14. Amir Khan vs. Adrien Broner @Welterweight
Khan. Imagine paulie vs Broner again if Paulies punches were heavier and a tad quicker.
    13. Sergio Martinez vs Miguel Cotto @Middleweight
    Martinez
    12. Vaysl Lomachenko vs Orlando Salido @Featerweight
    Lomachenko
    11. Guillermo Rigondeaux vs. Leo Santa Cruz @Jr Featherweight
Rigo, Santa Cruz is good, but not anywhere close to Rigo's level
    10. Danny Garcia vs. Timothy Bradley @Welterweight
    Bradley
    09. Wladimir Klitschko vs. Deontay Wilder @Heavyweight
    Klischko, Wilder is shattered.
    08. Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao @Welterweight
    Mayweather
    07. Mikey Garcia vs. Yuriorkis Gamboa @Jr Lightweight
I honestly could see Garcia having trouble with Gamboa. He is pretty damn fast... however he hasn't looked as fast as he moved up in weight IMO. I think Garcia uses the reach/skill/timing and wins. I wouldn't be surprised if Gamboa pulled it off though.
    06. Scott Quigg vs. Carl Frampton @Jr Featherweight
    Not sure.
    05. Carl Froch vs. George Groves II @Super Middleweight
Groves boxes just as well, doesn't get caught again and stopped prematurely.
    04. Miguel Cotto vs. Saul Alvarez @Jr Middleweight
    Alvarez. He is tested though.
    03. Adonis Stevenson vs. Sergey Kovalev @Light Heavyweight
Not sure... I've seen a lot of both and I can't really decide. This is the fight that is most realistic to happen on this last and I want to see it the most. Hopefully it materializes. If it does... I go with Stevenson
    02. Manny Pacquiao vs. Ruslan Provodnikov @Welterweight
Pac. Easily. No idea why this was #2 Lol. Would rather see Gamboa instead of Provod.
    01. Floyd Mayweather vs. Gennady Golovkin @Middleweight
Never will materialize. Even at middle weight I think Floyd has a good chance though. I favor Mayweather.

I think there is a very good chance we see Martinez/Cotto. Both are with HBO, and I think Martinez has 2 fights left on contract. They will feed him Cotto to put him at a career high, then feed him to golovkin so he can pass the middleweight torch. Its the best business situation for HBO. Cotto has lost a few fights recently so it really won't effect his draw if he loses another one. I also think HBO believes Martinez would win at middleweight, as do I.

    20. Sergio Martinez vs. Gennady Golovkin Middleweight
prime for prime - different story, right now GGG stops Martinez

    19. Marcos Maidana vs. Lucas Matthysee Weltwerweight
Maidana doesn't look to be too keen about facing Matthysse and there is probably a reason, I go with Matthysse

    18. Deontay Wilder vs. Tyson Fury Heavyweight
most intriguing heavyweight-fight out there. Fury is more prooven than Wilder and would knock him out imo

    17. Guillermo Rigondeaux vs. Vaysl Lomachenko Featherweight
great fight for late 2015. too close to call. If somebody beats Rigo in the next 2-3 years its Lomachenko

    16. Marcos Maidana vs. Ruslan Provodnikov Welterweight
comes down to who has the bigger balls, and nobody has bigger balls than provo

    15. Roman Gonzalez vs. Juan Francisco Estrada II Flyweight
Gonzales will remain unbeaten for a long time

    14. Amir Khan vs. Adrien Broner Welterweight
Khan wins this on workrate alone

    13. Sergio Martinez vs Miguel Cotto Middleweight
if Sergio isn't completely shot, he takes this easily, possibly stopping Cotto late

    12. Vaysl Lomachenko vs Orlando Salido Featerweight
Salido not good enough to stop the Lomachenko-express

    11. Guillermo Rigondeaux vs. Leo Santa Cruz Jr Featherweight
Cruz is probably the best challenger out there atm, and his chances of beating Rigo are somewhere between very slim and non existing. thats how good Rigo is

    10. Danny Garcia vs. Timothy Bradley Welterweight
Bradley is much more proven at WW, Garcia should stay away for the time being imo

    09. Wladimir Klitschko vs. Deontay Wilder Heavyweight
Wilder won't make it past the 5th, Wlad might knock him out by accident

    08. Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao Welterweight
2009 it might have been more competitive, 2014 Pac gets dominated

    07. Mikey Garcia vs. Yuriorkis Gamboa Jr Lightweight
Mikey needs this calliber of opponents to take the next step, and he has enough skill to handle it

    06. Scott Quigg vs. Carl Frampton Jr Featherweight
has to happen at some point. Quigg is good, Frampton is better

    05. Carl Froch vs. George Groves II Super Middleweight
Carl won't take GG that lightly again and this time he will be allowed to finish him off

    04. Miguel Cotto vs. Saul Alvarez Jr Middleweight
yes, Cotto might just be shot enough at this point to lose to Canelo...

    03. Adonis Stevenson vs. Sergey Kovalev Light Heavyweight
close to 50-50. I sense fear in Stevenson and I can't blame him. brutal KO, either way

    02. Manny Pacquiao vs. Ruslan Provodnikov Welterweight
Pac loves guys like provo. He eats them for breakfast

    01. Floyd Mayweather vs. Gennady Golovkin Middleweight
GGG is too big and too strong for Mayweather, and he knows how to cut off the ring. Floyd finally reaches his physical limitations here

    Underlined are my picks.

A few toss ups in there...

And a couple that don't belong, in my opinion.

I think Fury is the much better boxer overall, but has a pretty big chance to get KO'd early by Wilder who's moneypunch is exactly Fury's weakness.
If it goes past 3 Fury is your man though, but I don't think it will.
