But at least they can't ban you from reading the magazine. You have made dozens of accounts on here, you don't have to do that with just a magazine. So i might not be a bright spark, but at least I'm not some muggy internet troll. Dickhead.
I was a BN subscriber for 35+ years, but cancelled it after a fawning article on a fighter with some l, let's just say, cruel and dubious hobbies two weeks in a row. The now defunct Boxing Monthly magazine was superb, and sadly lamented, (I still have the very first issue). BN going into a monthly format, undermines it's absolute foundation of what made it special, and unique. I fear that will be that after 12 months or so. I did, used to love reading the RBR action in The Ring magazines I used to buy as a kid from the Guardian Royal Exchange as a kid in mid 80s Manchester, but even then, new Ring mags were massively out of date.
Was a subscriber for many years but cancelled when they went monthly instead of weekly. Like others have mentioned I have no interest in reading month old fight reports. I also e-mailed the editor with my thoughts but I do accept they are trying something new to keep the magazine alive.
There is something about reading a print magazine "in the office" that gives pleasure a phone just cannot provide. Probably an age thing, I'm sure the younger generation today will prefer their phones to a digital brain interface chip in years to come. Unfortunately we are witnessing the end of an era, lets enjoy it while it lasts.
The second issue arrived yesterday and £30 left my bank account this morning so I'll give it those three before deciding whether to keep going. There's about forty pages of retro, which ironically might turn out to be its biggest selling point. They've got one of the great boxing archives and it's a sport that thrives on nostalgia.
I bit the bullet and bought this months edition and i am mightily impressed.High quality with loads of content, seriously considering renewing my subscription despite my previous comments
Good for you giving it a go. I stopped buying boxing magazines about a decade ago. Long term I sadly can't see BM surviving, as many have said well out of date fight reports and as much as I love nostalgia I have around 100 boxing books and living non UK the cost of a monthly magazine would be the same price as even many hardback books!
