Boxing News ranks the 100 greatest fighters

That was pretty disgraceful,was n't it ? A champion's taking the **** when he's idle for that long.

 

Hamed was an underachiever. He could have been at the top for a lot longer. What a waste.

 

you can see they just winged it after the top 20 or so. Almost like someone said, "But what about these two fighters ...." and they said oh yeah and just grouped them together. Like Pac and May. /Marq. Barrer. and Moral./ Pedroza and Cervantes,/ Foster and Tiger,/ Leon. and Duran./ Frazier Foreman. generally with the guy who one more head to head of the 2 on top. Bad lists. But methinks all greatest ever lists are crappy and just so subjective. I would rather see a list from each of you for your own top ten FAVORITE or fighters or who YOU thinks is the most exciting ever for the style of boxing you personal like. NOW THAT would be interesting and informative to understand each other better.

 

Galaxy, Pryor, Darcy, Calzaghe are all horrific picks.

I think it shows that it's a **** list. It's not really about who is greater or not.

Hence why it has Johnson and Dempsey in the top 20 and Pryor at 60 and Calzaghe and Mosley in the top 100.

Should've just called it '100 Famous Boxers'.

 

Fitzsimmons should be at least 70 places higher !

But this obviously isn't a 'pound-for-pound' list anyway.
The criteria remains a mystery, so I cannot criticize it with any conviction. Suffice to say, I'd have 'em in a different order, and bring in a fair few who aren't there, and chuck a fair few out. :good

 

I always hate these lists. They always seem so hodge podge and thrown together. As for my own 2 cents, Cerdan, LaMotta, Robinson but no Zale?
