I really think Boxing is not in the bad condition people make it out to be. The only problem is we're not getting the fights we want, at the time we want them.

Other than that, we have tremendous talent out there and a good amount of boxers willing to fight whoever.

yes..boxers decide who THEY want to fight..whereas in ufc they HAVE to fight who the company wants..lack of matches and lack of risk taking kinda ****ed things up but thats how its always been..we'll have our good days and bad..

For me I think it's in Bad shape. Mexico, Philippines and PR boxing were all healthy. But the US boxing is too Dry right now. We have Floyd who made it to the mainstream but He dont wanna fight.

I dont think Bradley & Berto can make it Big. They dont have the charisma. I thought Pavlik could but he came in short. Who else there?

We're gonna have to rely on young boxers like Benavidez to represent the U.S.
By that I mean boxers whose parents are from other countries, but they are born here.

It depends. It's doing pretty well in other countries, but the health of boxing has usually been gauged by how well the American Heavyweight division is doing, which needless to say, it hasn't been doing at all. Even when Lennox was dominating, we still had Tyson and Holyfield still competitive, or if not, active in the earlier part of the decade.

Hell, i think the first step would be if Olympic Boxing could get air time in the States again but I can't even remember the last time boxing was shown during the games here. That's where a lot of our future pro stars are found like DLH,RJJ,SRL,and it continues with Ward and Dirrell. But the last 2 didn't have nearly the exposure as the first 3 i mentioned.

The other big problem is promoters aren't putting together the type of fights that a boxing fan can grab a friend and say "here, watch this ****" and convert another fan. Those kinds of fights have been sort of rare as of late.

it could be in a better condition, that's for sure.

However here in Montreal boxing is doing very well. They talk about boxing regularly on the radio, in the newspapers, etc.

when boxing news is in Chicago newspapers again, i won't worry as much. until then, it barely exists here despite the decent local 8 Count boxing cards monthly

All this bad condition talk is nonsense. When Ali retired people said boxing is over and the same was repeated to Leonard, Lewis, Tyson, Holyfield, DLH and the list is endless. Boxing keeps moving on, always have and always will.
