Sky Channel legend Mat Brooks has sent me an expanded list on this weeks KOTV screening Monday and repeated Wednesday. Heres a rundown; This week on KOTV – Hammerfist Herbie Hide is chasing his first cruiserweight title. We find out why the ‘Dancing Destroyer’ moved down a division And watch your ankles – boxing’s shortest ever world champion lets ‘em fly in Gold. Highlights of Cuban heavyweight prospect Odlanier Solis taking on the aptly named Julius Long. Unbeaten but untested middleweight prospect George Tahdooahnippah* taking on James Cook *Pronounced TAD-A-NAPA 6 years ago this week boxing’s shortest ever world champion ‘Baby’ Jake Matlala retired. Here’s the diminutive South African slugger’s WBO flyweight battle with Pat Clinton. A few minutes on Herbie Hides campaign to win the Cruiserweight title then to Germany as Hide is hoping to revitalise his fortunes against unbeaten cruiserweight Mikhail Nasyrov. ** Thats basically the footage of fights on this weeks KOTV, of course theres more with the regular news, upcoming fights and brief highlights on whats happened this week. Pavlik-Taylor II will open the show but don't expect any footage, probably just photos at a guess. This was just a quick cut and paste job with some minor editing, I'll work out a better layout for next weeks episode. Hope this is useful for some of you. Next weeks show will have highlights of Chris Johns recent title defense which has me wondering, will our very own Mark DeMori make his KOTV debut? More details to follow.
Well congratulations are in order this week for our very own 'Bobby', Mark De Mori, who makes his debut on KOTV this week with a quick grab of his 1st round KO win over Richard Tutaki. KOTV screens every Monday night at 11PM/9PM and repeated 9AM/7AM on Wednesdays. This English produced show is a pretty handy half hour wrap up of the fight game. This week they feature Chris Johns and as a result,a few of the supporting bouts have been given a run. Marks only briefly featured, well it was a quick fight but for those of you who dont have access to Fox, heres the script for Marks bit. Congrats to Mark, well done mate. And onto the week in boxing on Fox. Also on KOTV, highlights of Andreas Seran vs Sam Setu, highly touted welterweight starlet Selcuk ‘Mini Tyson’ Aydin of Turkey takes on Jurjis Boreiko in Halle, Germany. ** A better week of viewing this week, ESPNs Friday Night Fights are pushed into early Saturday AM by the U19 Cricket World Cup. A few Fight Sports Knockouts are scattered at all hours to be used as spak fill in the programming schedule.
Nah, its listed as a usual fight card, ie 2 hour show. Usually they have the generic description early in the week ie 'An explosive experience for boxing fans' and then a day or two before they list the main event. For whatever reason that hasn't happened yet. I'm in Braveheart mode at the moment...hold...hold
