It just came to my mind, how many stations worldwide provide steady boxing fights during weekends to local (and sometimes international) audiences. Minor fights but cards that keep the sport going and give local and some international talents a chance to be seen by audiences. In my case, I get fights from Argentina (of all places!) every Saturday night, on a channel named TyC sport. What's interesting about this show is that it gets shown in every country in the Americas. People send the broadcasters texts from Mexico, Venezuela. Bolivia, Puerto Rico, obviously from Argentina, etc during their telecasts. Their fights are not great unless they involve the Arturo Gatti of women, Maira Moneo. If a PPV fight is sometimes a filet mignon, usually TyC Sport's fights are cheese sandwiches. They fill you, but its not the best food around. But they satisfy your hunger, especially when Showtime boxing and also now that HBO boxing is not around. Sometimes, the main event, I kid you not, is a six-rounder contest! We also used to get boxing from Mexico on Telefutura, Univision or Mexicanal, but, strangely enough, that's not the case anymore. On those cards, there were some wars! Plus, I guess you can say that the USA Network, ASPN and ESPN also carried many of these smaller, no-frills cards for many years too. How about you in your different countries? Do they have shows like that where you live at?
