Swing fight is good. Floyd Sr trained Flores almost Koed in the first. Then recovered & KO the journeyman in the 3rd. Good action fight. I guess Flores didn't learned any Defensive technique from Floyd Sr. yet.
Indeed. Fields is a joke as a top tier fighter. Sure, he can beat the limited comp they put him in with, but as soon as he steps it up, he will be laid out cold. He leaves himself WIDE OPEN for counter shots ALL fight long. ANY boxer with even decent ability will beat him.
So I am I. I've become something of a fan of Calloway's. He's the KING of the midwestern regional HWs!! And he seems like a nice guy, too.:yep
And one of them is getting KOed, that's the beautiful part. Both guys come in to mix it up and throw a lot of punches, Calloway can definitley punch if lacking everything else and I believe hard enough to hurt Smith and Smith is not a hitter at all, but he throws a lot of volume and Calloway's chin is china... so somebody's falling in a war.:yep Should be a good scrap.
Yeah, and certainly a LOT more interested than Fields' fight tonight. Did you see that ****?? I actually laughed a couple of times watching that fight. There are prelim fighters with better technique than this guy!
Of course I saw it, but I've seen Fields more than a few times. I know you won't like this, but I flipped the channel to MMA replays that I had seen countless times after the 2nd round because that **** was so boring and SO sloppy. :-( And I was really in the mood for boxing tonight, the Clottey bout was pissy and the Fields bout was Fields. Fields likely gets KOed by a Guinn level fighter.
Lemme tell you - fights like this almost make ME wanna watch UFC. The Clottey fight was pretty good, but the Fields fight is the kind of fight that drives fans away from boxing! It kind of pisses me off that Versus is hyping this guy. There are so many more decent HWs they could airtime to.
Absolutley. Arreola, Chambers are two that come to mind instantly. Both are nothing top class, but both are also top 20 level and can defeat some contenders. I'd pick both to starch Rahman, Fields would actually get starched himself by Rahman.
Clottey-Flores turned out to be a nice fight. Scored it 7-3 for Clottey but it was a tough fight for him. Seems like he may have taken Flores a bit too lightly. Wouldn't mind seeing Flores again against some prospects out there. He would probably give Berto a tough fight, I'd like to see that if Berto doesn't look for bigger things if he beats Estrada. Fields-Jenkins was pretty sad actually. Most of the blame for that has to lie with Jenkins. He showed no desire to fight. Fields isn't the most exciting fighter to watch either. His original opponents Meehan and Boswell would have had to make for better and much tougher fights.
