I dont want to hear about the 2 being similar ever again after that Joshua vs Ngannou fight. Ngannou looked like he didnt know what hit him. Imagine if Joshua was wearing 4 oz gloves like they do in the UFC

Mma fans think cause you can relatively punch or score 999 on anachine you match up vs a boxer.
Pre fight fans thought ngannou would ko AJ 37% vs 35%). ****ing idiots.

Boxing is about throwing punches with good technique whereas MMA is more like bar-fighting.

Its not the power thats different. Some MMA fighters hit hard than boxers.

"Any fool can fight, few can box"

Ridiculous. How many bar fights involve kicking or submission grappling?

You are describing modern bare knuckle boxing not modern MMA.

The ****? Pretty much all of them. Have you ever seen one?

And what the hell does submission have to do with a thread specifically about power anyway?

The biggest difference is technique not power. There are/have been elite boxers who can't crack an egg. Lots of MMA fighters can punch harder than certain top boxers, but they don't have the technique or skill required to land the punches as effectively.

fact: more mma fighters have tried boxing and won in cross over fights against big names than the other way around.

no boxer will ever go to ufc and give jon jones a decent fight.

Ngannou losing to aj doesn’t erase his achievement vs fury.

Boxing will never recover from that fight. the cross over will always favor mma. because mma fighters practice boxing and boxers dont do any grappling.

Aj hits like a mule. hes knocked out about 90% of the other boxers he’s faced, ngannou is no different than them.

Ngannou lost cause if his lack of defense. rewatch round 1 before the knockdown, he was slightly ahead in the score by one or two punches.

Ngannou lacks a good guard . he tries to parry every punch, big mistake. he also throws lazy jabs without anticipation of the counter. a few patches in these areas , he would still be able to compete with the likes of Chisora other top tens.

Lets not act like all boxers punch like Aj, they don’t.

Ngannou worst matchups are Wilder , AJ and slightly Fury for his defense. But even in shape fury wont spark Ngannou.

Usyk is a worse match up than Fury.

Fury clearly didnt take the fight seriously. If he did then he needs to seriously consider retirement because he has no chance vs any of the top heavyweights.

Did you for get about Ray Mercer vs Tim Slyvia who 1 punch Kod him with the first punch that landed. That fight also showed the differnece between boxing power and MMA power. That was a 48 year old Ray Mercer vs Tim Slyvia who was heavyweight champion of the UFC just 3 years earlier. Shows how much of a difference in power there was. Imagine if boxers got to use 4oz gloves.

Ngannou cant beat anyone in the top 20 who isnt shot. Cut it out. Even vs Fury who was not taking it seriously he still lost. Where was this Iron chin of Ngannou ? Oh wait he just wasnt fighting MMA fighters or a not motivated Fury..
