There is a problem I see with this concept. Who will make the judgement on the best fight or best KO of the night? You cannot leave it up to the fans because the fans might be biased. You cannot leave it up to the promoters because they will also be biased. It would have to be a governing body but then we would have one winner per body and that would be as many as the stars that shine above. I would have to say that it has to come from a respectable media. In my opinion, the media that would be the best to take respect and help promote a fight this way is Ring Magazine.
I dont like it A fighter should fight however he wants to fight, the incentive itself forces guys to fight more "fan friendly" which ruins the essence of "sweet science" And boxing is not UFC.
...And they should offer fighters double their paychecks if they agree to wear lead boots so they're forced to slug toe-to-toe in the centre of the ring.
Yes, but there should also be one for best Boxing Lesson as well, and the bonuses for best fight and lesson should be bigger than the KO.
The only reason UFC does these bonuses is because they have 6-8 fights on that one night and realistically most of its fighters make alright money but not millions. Tell Floyd to take a risk for best KO for just 50,000 or 100,000 bonus when hes making 20-30 million. Is it worth getting in scrap for that amount. This could work for C level fighters in boxing, but not their B or A level fighters that are already making millions.
