Afternoon all I'm going to a wedding in Newcastle this weekend (the weekend of the Hatton v Pac fight) (2nd May to for the avoidance of doubt). Can anyone recommend a sports bar which will be open and showing the fight? I've spoken to a couple of casinos that will be showing it so I have a plan B, but if anyone knows of somewhere that regularly shows boxing cards then it may be a better atmosphere. Thanks
The Hatton fight is THIS weekend atsch I know what you mean though I dont know of any specific 'boxing' pubs (although most of them enjoy some pugilist action at some point every night!). I am sure there will be loads that will be showing it.
Walkabout and Sports Bar Cafe usually show the big fights - though I am not sure whether there is one of either in Newcastle.... there is in Leeds and the Sports Bar has it. There are plenty of bars in 'The Gate' - one of those will have it on I am sure.
Try ringing Bar Fluid (it's near St James grounds) and the Lonsdale pub in West Jesmond (aptly named!).
Not sure..... I was looking on the Walkabout website and certain ones have it, the Leeds one doesn't and is booting out at 3. Sports Bar stays open while 6 in Leeds and are offering £5 entry and a free drink at 3am...... so go in there for the undercard, then get booted out and just pay the £5 to get back in! The Geordies are pretty party mad.... so somewhere will have it!
