Hello there. I'm building a boxing management game at the moment and was interested on fans views of how the rankings should work against that in reality. I have a few ideas on how I would like to approach them, but I thought I would run some ideas on here. My first thought was to use a ranking system similar to that of FIFA which includes importance of match and the strength of the confederate and the strength of the opponent. I don't want to use a league system as that to me is a little boring and doesn't represent a ranking system. I have read other forums which controversially say that promoters 'buy' rankings in order to make the fight more viable. I can build this is in but I think this would add a very cynical dimension to the game. The problem with a program is you can't subjectively measure a performance and rank them that way, for example NFL power rankings. If I've made sense and you have some ideas I would love to hear them, cheers.
