A clinic? Be real...GGG looked like crap but so did Canelo. The only advantage Canelo had on GGG is that he can punch from angles. GGG has to have his feet set to throw combinations, but Canelo did not throw rarely any combos. GGG threw maybe 5 right hands the whole night, disgusting fight.

If it was boring, it was boring because of GGG not doing anything for 8 rounds. Canelo came to fight, GGG didn't.

Canelo looked good, GGG looked like crap for most of the fight, until round 9. Canelo landed some thudding shots, and did something he hadn't done too much of in the previous 2 fights, which was work behind the jab. Canelo's jab was impressive, especially considering he had a wrist injury in that hand.

I did like Alvarez's better work with the jab, but he also missed tons of winging, telegraphed shots, which is probably why he had so little energy late. However I disagree that he looked "good". It's probably the worst he's looked physically since he became a world class fighter. He appeared slower and sloppier, and as the significantly younger guy, he would have done himself a huge favor by pressing consistently. I think Alvarez is starting to roll down the other side of the hill.

I was at that one. I heard his family talking about how his lifestyle outside the ring caught up with him. In particular, the fights and drugs.

I thought he looked "good" but not "great". He didn't look "bad". You don't dominate GGG for 8 rounds by looking "bad". GGG didn't come to fight, Canelo had better speed early on than he did vs Bivol. He also lasted longer before gassing than he did vs Bivol, but of course Bivol had a lot to do with that providing more resistance than GGG did.

I don't disagree that he wasn't at his best on Saturday, but he wasn't that far from his best, just slightly less than his best. Canelo needs rest, he needs to repair the wrist, he'll come back recharged next year I think.

Canelo nearly losing to 40 years old Golovkin was definitely a more entertaining ending than something like SRR-Duran III

I thought Gilberto Roman vs Santos Laciar III was lackluster compared to the other 2 fights that were close and competitive. Roman straight up outboxes a shopworn Laciar.

Delvin Rodriguez vs Pawel Wolack II was also a major disappointing and dull fight, especially how thrilling and close the first fight was.
