Your a budding young trainer, looking for knowledge to add to your philosophy. You've made the decision to hit the road and go to the top trainers in the UK.

It's just you, your car and the motorway and enough cash to last you 1 month on the road. You've got a book of gym numbers and addresses...

Who do you go to?. Amatuer or Pro trainers? and why?!.

I've always wondered who i'd go to watch and work with if i ever got into training fighters.

    Discuss :good.

    :patsch

Anyways, start down in camp Calzaghe and then over to Vinceypoos (for logistical reasons) and then probably down the M4 to the TKO, then some Am gyms in that area. After London, up the M1 and M6 to Manchester to see Joe G and Arnie, then across to Yorkshire to see the Ingle gym then finally up further north to see Billy's gym.

Also, I'd stop off to see the Olympics training place for boxing - Yorkshire?

Is it for a particular reason as some gyms are very picky about letting people just come in and use their facilities. A lot of them are very cliquey and don't like outsiders coming in without sussing them out first. If you come up here to the North East mate send me a PM and I'll sort you out a list of the clubs you can go to and which ones are best for coaching or for the crack as well.

No probs mate, I had to go through a load of problems regarding gyms when i did the magazine but once they realise that your alright then they are generally cool with you. i know most of the coaches so I could have a word for you if you do come up. I think if your generally interested in boxing and have good reasons to be there they will all be good, they just get a lot of idiots through the doors from local papers etc so i can understand them being a bit dubious.

It would be best doing it early season as well so they don't think your a spy and a lot gyms close down from May to September too.

Yeah i could imagine they get all sorts trying to get in gym for own reasons. Good shout on the season time, would be pointless going down at off season time.

Many Thanks Chatty, I'll hopefully be in touch sometime in the future :good.

Start with Ronnie Davies in Brighton upto the TKO in Canning Town in East London then upto Hall Green to work with Frankie Gavins current coach before moving along to sheffield to work with howard rainey, then id head to Manchester to work with Joe Gallagher and then to Northside ABC before ending up at Kevin Marees gym in Blackpool.
