    May 13th (Friday), 2011

At Buffalo Bill’s Star Arena, Primm, NV
    This content is protected

Seth Mitchell (21-0-1) vs. Evans Quinn (20-5-1)
Sharif Bogere (19-0) vs. Raymundo Beltran (24-4)
    This content is protected

    Terence Crawford (13-0) vs. TBA
Lester Gonzalez (11-3) vs Alfredo Contreras (11-9)
    Michael Finney (7-0) vs. TBA

This is a "Prospect Card" full of unbeaten young talented prospects. The two fighters that will not be televised (Crawford and Finney) are probably considered the best of the bunch (by some "experts"...Fighthype believes that Crawford is the REAL DEAL). But with all that being said, the three televised fights will all be worth watching. Mitchell is a heavyweight prospect trying to show that he belongs in the HW discussions. Gary Russell Jr. is PHENOMENAL and is facing a Tough-Test in Dat Nguyen. Nguyen will not be intimidated by Russell's speed and will come straight-forward and make Russell FIGHT instead of Box...We'll see. And for those of you who have never seen Sharif Bogere....you'll be entertained by his ring entrance and he is just as entertaining in the ring.

At The Chumash Casino, Santa Ynez, CA

Julio Diaz (38-6) vs. Kendall Holt (26-4)
Jonathan Gonzalez (12-0) vs. Rudy Cisneros (12-2)
Julian Williams (6-0) vs. Nick Runningbear (4-5)
Kurtiss Colvin (4-0) vs. Ryan Soft (2-2-1)

I don't people have a clue of how good of a Main-Event this is on FNF's. Holt vs Diaz will be a SLUG-FEST. Both are trying to regain respect and put themselves in position for a shot at one of the bigger names at 140lbs or 147lbs. The undercards feature some solid prospects in Jonathan Gonzalez, Julian Williams and Kurtiss Colvin. Gonzalez and Colvin are solid but untested, I have never seen Williams but I have a colleague who swears that he is the "Next Big-Thing"...agian, We'll see.

    May 14th (Saturday), 2011

At The Home Depot Center, Carson, CA

Andre Ward (23-0) vs. Arthur Abraham (32-2)
Chris Arreola (30-2) vs. Nagy Aguilera (16-5)
Manuel Quezada (29-6) vs. Bowie Tupou (19-1)
Shawn Estrada (11-0) vs. Byron Tyson (9-2-2)
    Arman Ovsepyan (10-1) vs. TBA

It's a damn shame that Showtime is only going to show the Main-Event with a replay of the Pac/Mosley fight. Because it's actually a decent undercard featuring Arreola and unbeaten prospect Shawn Estrada. Now, with all that being said...The Super 6 is Back!!! Ward vs Abraham is not the most intriguing matchup, because it appears that Abraham will be severely outclassed. Abraham could have his moments...but this should be a BLOW-OUT!!!
    ________________________________________________________________________________

In Palenque de la Feria, Durango, Mexico
Cristian Mijares (41-6-2) vs. Carlos Rueda (16-4-1)

Mijares has been calling out everyone after he has gone on this 5-Fight win streak, including calling out Jorge Arce after win win over Vasquez. Arce has always said that he wanted a rematch after Mijares beat Arce back in '07.
    ________________________________________________________________________________

Not the greatest weekend of fights...but there are some solid bouts. The "Prospect Card" on Showtime, The Return of the Super 6, Holt vs Diaz and the Pacquiao reply...Not Bad, I'll be watching. Well that's all I have. If anyone knows more, please post. And for my "Across the Pond" posters...I would appreciate Prizfighter schedule.

    Also...

    At Estadio Penarol, Montevideo, Uruguay

    Javier Fortuna (14-0) vs. TBA

I don't know if any of you have ever seen this Dominican Prospect Javier Fortuna...But this kid is FANTASTIC!!! Just fought two Hot prospects in previous unbeaten Victor Valenzuela in which Fortuna KO'd his ass in the 1st round and KO'd Derrick Wilson in a battle to two skillful prospects...the first 2 rounds of their fight was EPIC...SPEED AND SKILL.

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbfcYusTD4c[/ame]

Anyway...You would think that Fortuna will be show-cased for a chance for people to see more of him...RIGHT? But who-ever is handling him, has him fighting on the undercards in ****ING URUGUAY this weekend...WTF?:huh

Thanks for the update. It loooks like a long night of boxing on tv Friday and then heading to the Home Depot Center for Saturday's card.

Too bad about the Gary Russell Jr. fight. Any news if Nguyen will fight a replacement?

Thanks...That should be a good fight. Terry is more of a Boxer and Perez is more of a Banger (although he can Box also).

We should know about the "Nguyen Fight" within the next 24 Hours....but I am highly upset about not seeing Russell Jr. This was an excellent test for hm too.

Not a bad week of fights at all. Sharif Bogere that's his name I remember that particular FNF everyone won by KO one guy did a chicken dance and Sharif came in a fricking lion cage ...was pretty awesome I must say. Diaz vs Holt is actually a quality main event I look forward to it.

    ***Update***

For the Friday Night Card on Showtime....since Gary Russell Jr. pulled out with an injury, it appears that there will be no replacement to fight Dat Nguyen. Instead that fight will be pulled and added to the card is:

Lester Gonzalez (11-3) vs Alfredo Contreras (11-9) Cuban vs Mexican

Now since this was billed as a "Unbeaten Prospect Card"...It appears that unbeaten prospect Terrance Crawford will be elevated to the televised portion of the triple-header card to replace the Russell/Nguyen fight. However, no opponent has been named for Crawford yet.

It's disappointing Russel jr. had to pull out been watching him since his showtime debue fast, technically sound, medium power but he puts combination's together well kind of reminds me of a lesser Mark Johnson.

Too Sharp was a great fighter him and Toney( pre HW) are the only 2 fighters in my life time that I could really just kickback drink a beer and enjoy the sweet science. Don't get me wrong there's plenty of fighters I love watching Gamboa, Donaire, etc. but it's not the same..
