Boxing Science: How Manny Pacquiao's Body Has Tricked Analysts and Opponents

I'm not critisizing the article, I found it interesting but its an article by a scientist, not a scientific article. If I couldnt produce something similar what does that have to do with anything or the subject matter?

Analyse this. His head has grown & the bones in his face are changing shape. It looks a different shape & is definately larger in proportion to his body. I have friends who lift a lot of weights & know a lot more about roids than I do. I mention a few facts about Manny to them, show a few photos (young & recent) & they all say, for various reasons that he's on something. They arent big boxing fans & dont have an anti-Pac agenda.

If you had even half a medical background you would know that PEDs don't increase your bone density and change the shape of bones. Also, if his head is larger than his body proportionally, this just means he has a big head. PEDs, according to you, increase bone densitye verywhere, so why does his head stilllook big if the rest of his skeleton is growing.

Also, why the **** would he take PEDs to increase his bone size, its not an advantage becaus its added weight, not muscle

 

Because it's not just your typical PED's, it's Asidemeff. You get better bullet resistance with bigger bones

There is a vast array of PEDs/Steroids which have been developed for all sorts of uses. EPO will have a very different effect from HGH for instance.
Manny has a very large, dense skeleton. He has a big head which is getting bigger, just look at his cheekbones & the shape of his head now compared to his early days. He also has larger wrists than Mike Tyson. Is it the result of natural variation/genes or is it from taking supplements (illegal/untestable/legal) which stimulate bone growth?

If his bones were growing denser his arms & legs wouldnt get longer, just wider. The 1st place the growth would be visibly apparent would be on the skull, then the wrists/ankles where there is no flesh a little skin.

As for why having greater bone density being an advantage over extra muscle perhaps you should read the article this thread is about, it will explain everything.

 

pac already had 8 in. wrists as a 126-130 lber. i recall seeing a detailed tale of the tape when he fought jmm the first time @126 and one of the morales fights.

and pac's head has always been large in proportion to his body. photos of him as a flyweight as seen above clearly show this.

Interesting article and a good read.. I've also noticed that Pac has some of the biggest calf muscles I've seen too..

Excellent read, Now I have got to see those accusers lay scientific evidence too. To justify they're claim that Manny is on something. Not the "Peds has been always a step ahead, He is related to someone who worked with peds or [insert reasons here]".

Let's just see how haters go against scientific facts.

When I met Pac last year, the first the thing I noticed was that he's really more like 5'4, maybe 5'5 tops. The 2nd thing I noticed was how huge his hands were. I'm 5'11, and Pac's hands seemed to be large enough to wrap around my whole fist. The other thing I noticed was how big his head was. I really think Pac is a 6 foot plus man trapped inside a 5'4 midget body.
