Part of that is based on the intangible criteria which are left to the interpretation of each judge. One judge might place aggressiveness above evasive ring generalship. Another gives equal value to body and connects to the head. They might differ as to when to count a jab as a power shot. Some might give more value to the boxer who is coming forward as opposed to the one perceived as evading. Based on such differing views, decisions can vary wildly and even appear as biased. I remember a fight where one boxer, who had fought very evasively while showboating a little while connecting effectively was amazed when he lost. So until a set of inflexible rules are strictly established where the leeway for personal interpretations are reduced significantly, this will continue to occur.
Boxing judging is corrupt in proffessional and in the olympics. Nothing new. Id like to figure out a way to get human judges out in place of an electronic system but i have no idea how that would work.
Who is going to hold them accountable ? The State Commissions are where the corruption starts Its all about the $$$$$$$$$
Don't you think its a sad society we are living in ?? You cannot find 3 honest judges and an impartial referee to adjudicate a boxing match It's not all the officials fault though They have families to feed too If they don't follow orders they dont get the prime assignments They are destroying the greatest sport in the world
It's nothing new. There's some decisions that are completely bull**** robberies and others that are debatable due to the subjective nature of scoring. I don't feel it's any better or worse than it was in the early 90s when I started watching boxing. There's just the Internet to get more varied opinions.
I had Floyd 9-1 too. I don't see what the problem is. McGregor was resorting rabbit punches as early as round 2 which is the sign of a desperate man.
