Pecho you and scrap think that punching from the lead foot produces inferior power! See http://www.saddoboxing.com/boxingforum/32043-overhand-right-3.html#post1268311

As far as Mike Tyson punching off the rear foot and not transferring his weight over the lead foot. What does Tyson/Cus mean by putting out the cigarette.
Scrap triggered an old memory of myself training under the tutelage of a certain crabby, foul mouthed coach that verbally abused me. His stance is what he referred to as skiing. Shoulder width apart and toes pointed towards the opponent. But hey Pecho and Scrap obviously more than me about how Tyson moved.

So let's here it what did they mean by putting out the cigarette butt.

That wasn't the question! The question was did he transfer his weight over his left foot?

Pecho here's Iran Barkley throwing to the body, tell me that his head isn't down and that his weight is not on front foot! This is American boxing called the " high low" and that his weight isn't over his lead toe "called sitting down on the punch" never heard of a boxer tearing his ACL.:tired

Don't if it's because it's the European style of boxing vs American boxing but surely you must know about fighting off the front foot since 99% of trainers fight of the front foot. It goes back to Dempsey... In one my post I showed a demonstration of the modern catapult. Where at the beginning of it was attached to it a weight and as the weight came down it propelled the top end of it forward sending object inside the sling further than the old catapult.

This is why Dempsey did the drop step to drop his weight forward propelling his fist faster than just off the back leg. Simple physics mate since your always harping about mechanics, sewage, waiste management and god knows what else.:verysad

What I meant Close, is Ive never trained a fighter in the style of what you imagine I do. Im very usa orientated in how I work as regards style :D. Plus spent time working and talking to great trainers, from over the pond.

Thats cause you dont know basic stuff. Thats why Iran got his head caved in against Toney, he couldnt see **** while Toney was destroying him, granted he was past it, but still.
Iran Barkley was a physical animal, but cant teach a dogs **** about boxing.

Watch when Tyson steps to the right to get an angle when he throws a right hand and when he throws the left rip. It all drives from that back leg/back hip. Those videos of him shadow boxing you'll see him swivel off the front toe and the weight drops in that back leg. Every movement Tyson makes comes from there.
