Could anybody tell me if there is a comprehensive and current boxing records/statistics book? I know there used to be various books like this which were issued annually but there dont seem to be any about any more. Have they just died a death since the advent of the internet because obviously with the likes of boxrec everything can be accessed fairly easily online. I for one would still like a hard copy book to flick through that lists up to date records and pen pics of fighters past and present and other boxing related statistics? Does such a book exist and if not do you think there would be a market for one? cheers
I have one called the world encyclopedia of boxing, my one is from about 99 as I've had it for years, but you can get updated versions, it has complete records of every divisions titles/championships going back to before the inception of the Marquess of Queensberry rules. Loads of pics and stories and other stats in there too.
Yep I got something like that too, think Bob Mee does it doesn't he? its always on sale in places like The Works
nice, is that the latest? Mine's like 13 years old as i say, it has muhammad ali on the front and underneath it has lewis/holyfield doing battle but they're all similar inside, my mate has a newer version than mine with a different cover
My one is a bit newer than that, 2005 maybe Its always cheap as in them sort of bookshops, have to stop my family from buying it every year as they think I dont have it due to the differing cover
hahaha I know how you feel, that's always the problem when you're the family boxing nerd, I'm forever getting books about stuff I've already read about boxing
This version looks like Iron Mikes just come across two pretty Muslims in the showers This content is protected
thanks guys. It seems they just update it a bit and rerelease it - it still has Harry Mullan's name on the front cover and he died in 1999!
