Right, that's why I said "I'm not sure I'd call it a style." It's just a term for in-and-out fighters.

Khan, Pacquiao, Martinez, Pascal, RJJ to an extent, can be described as ambush fighters. But they're styles are not all too similar; Khan is an out-fighter, Pascal and Pacquiao are boxer-punchers, Martinez is an awkward counter-puncher, and RJJ an unconventional fighter who can both lead and counter.

    Hmmmmm......
I always thought that the inside fighter is also called a brawler because an outside fighter who brawls just don't make sense to me

An out fighter is always on their toes, almost always backing up; fighting from the outside, using the jab, pivoting, constantly moving (Ali, for example)...a boxer is more technical. Its like a chess match for him. He picks his shots very carefully, doesn't move as much as a out fighter...(FMJ, for example)

A brawler just wants to take you out, throws punches without being concerned with getting hit back, (Mayorga) while a slugger throws big shots, but is slightly more concerned with defense and picking shots (Maidana is a good example)

I agree with this breakdown, though I'd use someone like Hopkins in FMJ's place. He's a defensive counter-puncher who can box very well.
