would a boxer's style be effective in all weight classes? let's say Floyd Mayweather was over 6 ft. and in the heavyweight division. would he achieve the same results as he does at ww? or if Paul williams was 5'5 and fought at lightweight. i bring this up because i read a thread a while back where someone said mike tyson's style was good for fighting larger opponents at the HW division, and wouldn't be as effective outside HW. thoughts?

It all depends on the other fighter, it's kind of like rock, paper, scissors

Depends how you look at it. Tyson's style with his knockout power would always be effective. Mayweather's style also. Paul Williams would be a lot taller (proportionately) than 5'5 as a lightweight. If he's 6'3 as a light-middle then something like 6' as a lightweight. Biggest style problem would be for the superheavyweights who rely on reach/size advantage - obviously they wouldn't have that if scaled down to lower weights.
