    With studies showing headgear potentially causing more brain damage, due to more area for gloves to hit and snap your head back I think its a great idea to remove head gear from amateurs again.

    As far as styles go, one thing i've notice is the crab defense basically phased out completely. Seems like old Foreman was the last major guy to use it but I could be wrong.

    after Ali in the 1970s the boxer puncher like Hearns and Leonard became popular since both Leonard and Hearns patterned themselves after Ali.
