montiel vs donaire and hopkins vs pascal 2 were pretty damn impressive and were big fights. things that have happened this year: -hopkins becoming the oldest champ - wlad and vitali proving klitschko domination- Proved that the heavies are all a bunch of slobs - froch and ward reaching s6 final-Sadly they did not get to fight - kessler getting back in the mix-What did he do this year? - Martinez proving his p4p status-What did he do this year? - Canelo rising-As a big fan I was really not impressed last fight - cotto vs marg set up- - pac vs marquez epic trilogy will be completed-Epic would have been 3 years ago - morales proving he wasnt as shot as people thought and becoming the first 4 division mexican-Agree - floyd proving he is still game-Yeah...he can still sucker punch at any given point - Bradley's rise and fall-his contract issues are ruining the division - Khan still going strong-Agree rising star - berto falling and bouncing back-name his last opponent I dare you - Rios proving he is one of the top 135 guys - guerrero rising only injury to prevent him from getting bigger vs maidana - salido ruining arums cake-Agree - gamboa becoming the top guy-Agree - Donaire destroying montiel and becoming p4p better and bigger in the sport now facing narvaez-When he should be fighting Darchinyan, Mares, and all the other top fighters. The guy walks around at atleast 130-140 why the **** is he fighting at his weight and still cant catch a dam fight worth watching? - Segura still going strong-Agree - Ioka upsetting a champion at minimumweight-Probably the last time we hear about him
IB I think you probably have the best knowledge since you actually seen every punch landed this year and I respect your knowledge but youll probably still be watching 30 years down the road when robots are punching the **** outta each other and call it the best year in boxing
November and december last year were epic. They had more action than the other 10 months. This year there have been very few bad weekends. And just wait until October 1st... Its going to be amazing.
Still, they were on TV :hey Even if they are not on TV in the US, Denmark or whatever, most can be viewed on a stream, or afterwards on youtube or a boxing video site. First time I watch a fight, it is mostly on a computer. Never liked MMA, so cant comment. Boxing: Floyd - Ortiz could seem a bit WWEish, but I dunno. Cant think of any other fight that did though. Boxings direction: Seems to be on the decline in the US, but it thrives in Europe. If anything, Germany and Britain (most likely) will just become "The Place(s)" But that still many years down the line. Already a strong European hold on some divisions. Some both moneywise and boxing wise, some moneywise.
A couple of the best fights I've ever seen in over 20 years (the last 8-9 as a hardcore fan, more casual before that) have been this year.
You make valid points there maybe it is heading in that direction. Anyways, I hope you didnt get banned for that post about streaming lol
you totaly right. to many boring fights, to many bad decisions either by ref or judges and the real fights we wanna see don't happen: obvioulsy This content is protected than This content is protected , we have to wait for that **** and than wait a hundred years for the winner to face This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected etc
Yeah, honestly id rather watch Marquez fight rios at 135 than Pac at welter its just a more evenly matched fight and ure right a number of the fights we want to watch like Juanma Vs Gamboa get pushed back and carefully matched and we never get to see them.
I mean every klitschko fight is boring, can we at least get the fight in the lower divisions. like what the point of martinez facing barker who?, nobody knows that dude, why cant he fight piroq or even andy lee would make it. than so many fight get postponed. and for the first time in a long time, we can see mayweather not running away and actualy fighting a beautiful fight and than that horrible end atsch
:deal Its been a great year and its not over yet. Alot of upsets. I think of it as Year of the Underdog.
