Hey guys, here are some thoughts on the boxing scene right now that i would like to know your opinions on. Thnx 4 writing :good

First one; Pacquiao is #1 p4p in my book for now, not that Diaz is a HOF or anything like that but he was the WBC LW Champion, was very game in the biggest fight of his life and could take one hell of a good shot, perhaps too good for his own good and Pacquiao dominated him all the way through the KO.

We should forget about Soto's DQ loss, treat him like the winner and push a fight between him and Valero in Texas ;)

Kermit Cintron should test the waters at 154lbs division. I know a lot of of you guys think Cintron is trash, but i actually think he has the potential to be a very good champ that would make for exciting fights.
For starters, i truly believe Cintron's body has looked weak in his last couple of fights, his legs very weary and with poor stamina. On the other hand, i think he would really benefit from 7 extra pounds on his body, more energy and less talented opposition. With his confidience high and continual skill improvement he could really be a force in the division.

For the last subject in this thread i would like to touch a little bit on the Cotto-Margarito fight. i will begin by stating my gratitude to Bob Arum and both fighters for making this fight a reality, but i do have to take my hat off to Miguel Cotto. Margarito doesnt really have much to lose, i mean he doesnt have the IBF strap, he is the underdog and he could very well have Miguel Cotto's number. Yup, you read correctly what i wrote, Margarito may have the perfect style to upset Cotto. I know many will think that a skilled boxer like Mayweather is the one that would make for Cotto's toughest style match up, but i would have to disagree and i will tell u why. With Mayweather and Cotto you have a complete contrast in styles that make a beautiful boxing balance, forcing the better fighter to impose his will over the other being that Cotto penetrates Floyd's guard frequently enough, or that Mayweather makes him miss and pay through out the fight. But with Margarito you have a fighter that could lose to the elite fighters in the division like Mayweather (now "retired"), Oscar DeLaHoya (has enough left), Paul Williams? (not sure he wins the rematch but already has a win over him) Joshua Clottey (could fight through out all of the fight) and maybe even Luis Collazo (underrated). Now if u notice the fighters i think have a good chance to beat Margo (doesnt mean i would pick them 2) are fighters who are able to fight well on the outside, and while Miguel Cotto was brought up as a counter puncher earlier in his career he has shown to be more comfortable lately as an inside fighter which is Margarito's bread and butter, add to that the size and possibly strenght advantage on the fighter who will not go down, has good punching power and puts his punches very well together. Dont get me wrong, i dont really think Margo has Cotto's number, but he might, and he definitly brings one of the thoughest styles for him to face. I would just like for boxing fans to be aware of the risk factor in this fight that many seem to underestimate and actually write off Margarito... My point is to not trash whoever wins and losses this fight, there is a lot more than these guy beat these guy so he beat the other one, and also a lot more than "styles make fights". My pick as of now, Cotto in a close UD.

ps: sorry for writing so much, and no, im actually not that bored i just felt like writing but then i got tired. :tired thnx 4 reading again :thumbsup i'll stay for a while to write back if necessary and will check it out frequently until it dies.

True, but putting it that way sounds hopeless, when in truth thats just something he needs to improve on if he wants to continue a succesful boxing career period, Kirkland and Angulo are still unproven and they would probably welcome Cintron licking their chops thinking this is the oportunity for them to get at the big times, Forrest and Phillips would be good fights for Cintron to prove he belongs at the elite in the SWD and Duddy is a MW. Spinks is a nightmare for most boxer  but ur point is valid :good
