Seeing Khan's newest trunks costing $50,000, it brings me to question why do boxers only wear their trunks once? If I was a boxer I would find it cool to have a pair of signature trunks I'd be identified by.
Um, because the blood, spit, sweat, and semen that collects over the course of a fight is a symbol of a grueling journey and people want a memory of it? Also, could be used in the future as a museum piece. Curt Schilling's laundered, free of blood sock would not hold the same appeal. atsch
Not every time you fight you get bloody. What about a guy like Mayweather, he never even gets bruised. What's his excuse? And have you ever heard of dry-cleaning? Theres ways to get them clean again, yes I know that many trunks are kept as memorabilia but it's just a general question. And actually some people would like having bloody trunks as memorabilia, to me that's probably cooler than having just regular old worn clean ones.
That's actually true lol. But still, it's just a question. Guys like Tyson and Hearns had signature trunks.
Wouldn't it be great if somebody came into the ring wearing old-school Everlast black and white trunks?
