Makes you realise how big Audley Harrison is. He outperformed Mitchell vs Katsidis. Itv needs to get boxing back on. Frank should be getting Gavin and Degale on terrestrial coverage to reach the level of popularly that Khan achieved.

Amen it would be brilliant if FW had 2/3 shows a month like he used to have. I would love to know the licence fees that Boxing gets in this country, I know what most of them are in the States and at ESPN level they aren't high at all. I'm going through the figures that FW did when he was with ITV last time now and it is phenominal how bigger draw Khan was on the box.

Very interesting, mate. Remember that a lot of people read the threads and don't necessarily post.

Khan's numbers are truly amazing; consistently hitting over 3 million viewers when he was on at a sensible hour for the casuals. I'd even say that the ITV4 numbers were quite good for lower-key fights as well. People can't argue that Harrison doesn't generate interest either after looking at his viewing figures!

I think it was Stew who said a few months ago that boxing has more interest than Wimbledon or F1; interesting to note that the BBC spends millions on the coverage of both every year and don't have the time of day for boxing. Bunce's boxing should at the very least be on the beeb considering it's popularity.

Tbh this is fascinating stuff where did you get this info from i have been interested in finding this myself i think Mitchell Katsidis is disappointing

Its amazing how much of a draw Khan is despite his standard of opposition and his recent level of obscurity with being on ppv and moving to america he still got good numbers on ITV.

What worries me is Hatton was a garantueed draw as was/is Khan but we dont have an upcoming star like that Degale Gavin etc have all been kept fairly low key.

Would also be intrested to see the figures for the Froch Taylor replay and Froch Pascal fight

BARB they gather all the viewing figures in the UK for every channel from 1998 onwards. I'm going through the Setanta figures now suffice to say I'm not surprised they went under.

Some of them are but Boxing get's outdone by Darts which I can understand as I stated that's on a much more favourable time slot. Cricket does better, Films did better on ITV4 as on occasion did documentaries about cops. But the one things that is noticable is that if you put on a bill with good talent (other than Harrison) then people will watch.

Because I couldn't find those figures on their own. I can only find figures that are in the top 10 for that week on that channel.

You have to wonder how Audley went so long without a promoter over here, look at his ratings even if everyone was tuning in to see him get chinned.

Just added Setanta figures but it's not especially clear what those figures represent because all it has listed is Boxing and in a normal week there would be at least 2/3 lists of Boxing in the top 10 of Setanta 1 and 2.
