    Not at all.

Sells way fewer tickets. Brook benefited from the Hatton name the 1st time and Jones trash the 2nd.

Froch's **** fight was Mack. Brook's **** fight was Saldivia. Compare those. Add in that Froch will probably do 200,000 on PPV then he is certainly the bigger drawer.

Well those particular sets of figures are close. I watched the Mack fight on the Sky3D channel and it seems those figures are just Sky Sports 1.

The increased exposure on CH5 shows the risk being taken sending Froch to ppv on the back of Froch-Bute when 3 times more people saw Galahad-Booth than that fight. The likes of Khan and Hatton boasted prior large numbers and a far greater media profile as the basis for ppv fights.

The increased exposure Fury gets on C5 and also NBC Sport in America coupled with his entertaining fights, is very very good news for him. Lets hope Channel 5 and Hennessy keep it up.

One thing it does show is there is a home for boxing on terrestrial tv. Greed has stopped this mostly but for many the positives outweigh the negatives.

bellews had a lot of hype behind him from matchroom and sky could be a reason and he continues to get it. by the time the quigg fight came round sky had washed there hands of every1 but matchroom.

brook hatton got huge figures inpart due to the hatton name but another factor was loads of football was postponed that day so there was no match of the day or football first for people to watch that night. it was probably this fight which gave sky the idea to ditch every1 but matchroom.

  8. Brian Roses figures for last year spell bad ratings for Saturday's matchroom

And khan is a big draw surely we all know that.casuals will even stay up for him

Fury viewing figures from another forum

edit: when you look at the kind of ratings C5 get for everything else it's very surprising/disappointing that they're seemingly going lukewarm on boxing:

saturday was poor even by boxings crackpot standards - clashing 3 live tv events all against each other. the promoters and broadcasters just dont do themselves any favours at times

  12. Going by that fury would of got Great figures without other shows

Add more mainstream coverage and the man will be a household name

I don't see Channel 5 dumping boxing entirely with those ratings. Interesting that Wealth TV in the States have picked up DeGales fight in Canada so it looks like that will be on Channel 5.

Why you say that. If sky are getting 120k average figures which includes casuals how many would boxnation get I say no where near that number
