Boxing viewing figures in the UK

Surely there are a load of prospective new subscribers that would pay for Mayweather vs Pacman?? Everyone is talking about it? If they got 250K in for Haye Vs Chisora? Or are those numbers made up by Frank.. Tyson Fury has never fought on Sky has he? All been on Channel 5 till BN got his last few fights. Saunders Vs Eubank 1 in November apparently got over 120K subs on BN according to a chap at Paywizard. Which is excellent. Both very marketable and the Boxing tonight show on BT Sports got good numbers when it showed the full fight the following Wednesday with box Billy Joe and Eubank JR/SN in the studio as guests. Built up the rematch really well.. I hope BN works, as a fan I think its great.

 

They'd need 500k extra subscribers to break even if they got the fight going off the £12m price

So quigg got 15 times less viewers than frampton, take aside the free TV v's subscription that's still a humongous gap in star power

On those figures I doubt Sky will be interested in Wilder's fights against non UK opposition in the future.

Sky don't release the figures. From what I've heard it wasn't a great total- nowhere near Bellew/Cleverly. That super fight.

 

Mayweather pacquaio 4 weeks earlier probably impacted that to be fair, plus sky went into massive hype overdrive for Bellew clev.

 

Small channels like Spike TV and Boxnation would come under the 'others' category should either become worth reporting.

 

I think Spike do get reported, they have a decent enough reach as they are on freeview.

 

although the main event was shyte I thought it was a good card, but it was surely suicide going up against the FA cup final, since every bar/pub + casual would be more interested in that on free tv than paying 15/20quid to watch boxing.

have a feeling the may vs pac fight didn't do that well either.
