:deal Absolutely nailed on. Boxing fans will tune in to watch boxing. Casual fans will tune in to watch boxers. And they need to know who they are before they watch.
Where? Here? That cant be right can it? Surely!! I'd say they were good figures to be honest for a fight that was on at daft o'clock in the morning involving two non-British fighters that the guy on the street wouldnt know if they fell over them.
Actually that is a good figure for the last year or two, above their average anyway. HBO's Boxing viewing figures have been in free fall for the last couple of years. It was made to be a very big deal that Calzaghe-Kessler got the lowest rating for a World Championship Boxing of all time, well last year the highest rating they got (Cotto-Foreman) couldn't even beat the figure they got for that fight.
 Just googled and it is true. Cotto-Foreman and Calzaghe-Hopkins both did around 1.6m viewers.
Ouch didn't realise they put that much money in to that fight, surely that can't be right I know the licence fee was high but not that high surely. Do you have a source for that?
This isn't british television viewing figures but thought it was interesting none the less, from Dan rafaels twitter.. "The 1.4 million viewers for Alvarez-Hatton on Saturday night was the most for a 'BAD' main since James Kirkland-Joel Julio did same 3/7/09"
I have updated the TV Figures (Opening Post) up to March 19 and I have also added some figures I found for HBO Boxing, Showtime Championship Boxing and ESPN Friday Night Fights. Enjoy.
