    K-1 isn't MMA. Not in the current definition of the term with the "unified MMA rules". K-1 is basically kick boxing with some modified thai boxing rules thrown in I believe. It's purely stand up fighting.

    this is Kickboxing. K-1 is a org for Kickboxing not mma.

    Bad example...

    1 - this is under K1 rules. ( kickboxing , not mma )
    2 - the opponent happens to be a wrestler / mma fighter.


    So we basically have a pro boxer against a wrestler under kickboxing rules.

    ohh come on guys we all know shannon would be mauled on the ground , or sub'd, or arm barred or choked out ect... im just talkin stand up , he used his distance well stayed away from the kicks , he did better than i thought he would thats it.

    It's not even boxing vs MMA. It's boxing vs wrestling in kickboxing rules. Very strange encounter. If you want to see a better boxing vs kickboxing match look up Francois Botha vs Remy Bonjansky.
