I'd say going to ground is potentially very dangerous on the street, you leave yourself very susceptible to outside attack.

Police officers etc clearly try and stay on their feet for a purpose.

You have no idea Hendo - your observations on Muay Thai are laughable.

Put one of your fantasy, invincible boxers in a Muay Thai fight and watch him get ****ed up - we don't need any ground grappling to beat your arse.

But of course that will never happen - the boxers of today would **** if they ever got elbowed, kneed and thrown.

    Mercer vs. Sylvia
Froch vs. Dirrell (Froch throws him)
Valero vs. Demarco (Demarco elbows him)
Arbraham vs. Various fighters (He elbows and knees them)

I'm obviously just being facetious here but you get the point--It's the fighter that's important, not necessarily the techniques he uses. And the real reason it would never happen is because who watches Muay Thai???

Some half assed sniper shots between boxers does not equate to a pro MT fighter throwing proper techniques against an ignorant boxer in the mould that Hendo spouts off about.

boxer are the best punchers in the world, why cant people understand that?
they dont know about anything else,I actually train boxing and not mma,bjj or muay thai, but its obvious that the only thing a boxer does is punch, anything else they will be clueless about, unless they trained in it,what is so hard to understand about this?

Then why has there not been one MMA fighter in HISTORY that had the balls to fight like a man?

Oh, except Silvia and we know what happened there.

Every MMA fighter is so scared to get hit, they go right to the ground like a homosexual.

That squared up Muy Thai stance is easily beatable by a boxer. Ya'll would get ****ed up BAD in a boxing gym.

Ya'll clam Silva is so good at it, but Silva uses a boxing stance, and not that squared up **** that Muy Thai uses.

And didn't he just get his ass beat by Sonnen, yet he could beat Tyson?

****, Couture talked all that **** about dirty boxin, this and that, but what he do right away? Wrestle cuz he was scared.

So don't talk all this bull**** when history shows they scared.

Because it's clear you don't know **** about boxing.

You think that sqaured up defense works. That's not boxing.

Pro MT equals some unathletic guy that can't play any other sport in a squared up stance against other unathletic guys that can't play any other sport.

    Wow.

    Spectacular.

    :rofl

How stupid are you? I work in a boxing,MT and MMA gym, trained am and pro fighters for 22 years. Our boxers seem to go pretty well domestically and have no problems working with MT guys on hands only all the time. You don't even train in a boxing gym - name it if you do. Your coach must be real proud of you managing 2,450 plus posts this year!

Squared up Muay Thai stance? Wrong, wrong, wrong. Thai fighters square there feet and angle their torso - but feel free to try your orthodox knee turned out stance and watch me break it with one stab kick.

You don't even train I bet - a couple of rednecks slugging each other in their manboobs between slugs of beer is about the sum of your effort.

**** off back to the lounge you overposting wanker.

Also don't forget MMA BJJ is different than traditional BJJ. Tradtional BJJ contains alot of "dirty moves" intended to save your life but are illegal under MMA rules i.e. low blows, fish hooking, headbutting, small joint manipulation, hair pulling, throat strikes, biting, rabbit punching, grabbing clothing etc etc.

In a street fight the MMA artist will hold the advantage, however the advantage won't be as wide as if it were under MMA rules. MMA isn't so much a pure mix of styles as it's hyped to be - MMA is its own style borrowing bits and pieces from other styles that are best suited under MMA rules.

Street fights are nothing like the movies, for the most part they are boring, sloppy and generally the verbal fighting goes longer than the actual fight itself.

    Missing the point Johnstown.

No one said anything about a pure Muay Thai versus MMA.
