The guys they are fighting are only around 20th in MMA, Nishijima was 24-2-1, winning the WBA CW belt in 97 and going undefeated until 2003. The black guy getting choked without any offense of his own is Matt Skelton, CURRENTLY a top 20 HW by pretty much all rankings. The point is that any extra boxing ability wouldn't have amounted to ****, they were already much better boxers than the other fighters. Art Jimmerson was 28-5 and certianly a top 35 cruiserweight when Royce Gracie beat him without trying at UFC 1 [yt]LCsyGduUvzE[/yt] You're a ****ing idiot if you believe that bull****. No sense arguing with somebody who lacks even the most basic level of common sense.
You could try an ask him, don't think you could make much out of his response 's being that they'd just be mumbles and drawls.
hey dip**** I beat a dude in highschool wrestling who beat Mark Kerr (not saying I was as good as Kerr at all not even close) the same year....so I know a bit about grappling....:good
This video shows exactly why boxing is infinitely more exciting than that boring UFC ****. How anyone could find two guys rolling around on the floor exciting, I'll never understand.
I believe you are quite gullible..... And I would be pretty pleased with myself at 38 and change (being totally out of wrestling shape) to win a highschool wrestling match against any half way decent opponent...
Isn't Royce Gracie consider the greatest MMA fighter by most ppl? Isn't kind of bais he fighting some top 35 CW, why not fighter the #1? put a guy like Mike Tyson in there, With thier gloves, bet you he would KO Chuck, prossible even Ramage tooo. Anyways i aint gonna agure who would win a boxer or mma fighter, i don't know why people even compare......... THEY ARE APPLES AND PEACHES, they both different, and in a street fight, it anything goes, **** HAPPENS, all depends on whos lands first or who grabs first etc.. etc ... and sometimes the better figher loses, it plays to chance and timing, and on the situation But heres the fact, a MMA fighter steps into a boxing ring with a good boxer, most likely he will lose, and if a boxer step into a MMA cage with a good mma fighter, he is most likely to lose. I do respect MMA, becuz it does allowes different arts of fighting to come and become professional fighters, and theres a range of different arts, i have respect for both sports, and actaully beleive UFC is a bit better of a fighting sport, becuz the fact their are more than one style of fighting involed. And even thier promotion are better, becuz they give the people what they want to see, not like in boxing, the greedy ******* keep making ppv's and instead of giving ppl a show for FREE and bringing boxing back to life. As a sport BOXING and UFC are different and shouldnt be compared, but i don't beleive UFC is doing much better overall becuz they making a fan base, promoting their fights more, they being more smart. While in boxing isn being under the shadow, only true boxing fans whos the best fighters rite now :thumbsup

oh god joe rogan is a what you peeps on the other side of the pond call...a douche he was acting like boxing is a flawed sport and that ufc is the true way. saying you can use more moves I.E. you can use kicks, you can use elbows, you can use knees. is not becuase boxing doesnt want to use these weapons it's becuase it makes it a sport not a fight. in the old days it was a way of having equal fair fights. so a man who was 130 pounds had a good chance against a man who wieghed 230 pounds. to be honest 2 unskilled boxers are far more entertaining than 2 unschooled wrestlers. i am not agaisnt mma, i still do taekwondo and boxing so in some way i am an mma practitioner. but i like tactical sports i like K-1,i like a bit of pride aswell...but ufc to me is so pretencious. and degrading to all other sports. it's a company and dana acts like it's the one and only. like it's rebelling against the regime or somthing...becuase as we know it is the ULTIMATE fighting championship
Honestly I'd much rather watch two lower level MMA guys go at it than watch two unskilled boxers dance and paw at each other. Boxing is usually only entertaining at the elite levels.
No joke, I did mix it up with a lot of very accomplished wrestlers in highschool. In the finals of one tournament I beat a dude who won the MIT in Ohio, and anyone who knows wrestling in Ohio knows that is a damn good tournament. Glory days they'll pass you by..... :-( I was playing stupid devil's advocate and you did a good job of rebutting my inane arguments. Nice job with the videos MMA vs. (non-club fighter) boxers. :good Boxing at its best is great and so is MMA. However, MMA is still an evolving sport it will continue to add technique and skill. I think that boxing is about as advanced technique wise as it can be.... That might be a good thread....Who were boxings major innovators???
