Considering boxing has been around under Marquis of Queensberry rules for nearly 150 years and modern MMA is a mere 15 or so years in age theres no comparison.Bearing in mind boxing is a sport that consists primarily of head trauma theres still no comparison as in MMA there are multiple ways to finish your opponent and with 1oz gloves head trauma is rare because the padding is scant and the head trauma is far less. And no there has been a death in MMA but it was unheralded.I cant remember the chaps name but the fight is on youtube.

Competition is good for ANY sport and ANY business. Why is the UFC not in the far east? Because the demographic is entirely diffrent. The fans are not even remotely similar. The UFC bought PRIDE but what did they do for the Eastern fans? O thats right **** all. They took there name fighters and the rest have been left to there own demise or are fighting in smaller non descript orgs. That does NOTHING for the sport except dilute its talent pool.Theres great MMA fighters all over the globe that are not in the UFC.Fedor being one of them.

Frank Warren has a near monopoly on british boxing and he still hasnt been able to make all the big fights that fans have wanted.Don King is exactly the same.

Duke seriously get off this UFC fanboy nonsense. When was the last time you watched Bushido live? Or PRIDE? Or Hero`s? or even the K1.**** it even the UFC!! If it wasnt for Bravo we wouldnt get the UFC.As for the rest unless your a hardcore fan your not going to even get it delayed much less live.I cant remember the last time iv watched a bout from Cage Rage or Elite XC.

Listen man, I watch LOADS of MMA, I'm not a UFC fanboy, my overriding philosphy is this: I want to see the best fighters fight!
Simple as that, at the present time, the best org is the UFC, without a doubt, they are the only org capable of achieving the dream of getting the best fighters in there against one another.

Now granted, I thought Pride had better production values, the rules were superior and I think the ring is better than the cage and personally it would have been a dream if Pride had bought the UFC

    BUT....

That didn't happen. The UFC bought Pride, so we can either get on a hate wagon or accept it, the only company capable of providing the best fights and the best fighters is the UFC, they have the fame and fortune to get it done, it may not be perfect but its better than nothing!

I'm not a UFC fanboy, I'm a MMA fanboy and I want to see the best fights and the best fighters fight each other, the closest I'm going to see that is through the UFC....sorry. :D

I know you greatly dislike the UFC but it's just something you'll have to accept sooner or later, I know I didn't like it at first but I came around, give it time and you might to!

Whats the deal with Amelianenko? Is he ever fighting in the ufc? And btw I also suggest people give ufc a try....ill be the first to admit that I have bashed it in the past, but when I gave it a try it was entertaining! Boxing is still my fav, but seriously people don't bash it if you have never watched it :D

ufc is a business under central management so they can shift resources to wherever they want. That does not happen with boxing.
