Ok basically I am short of money and I pay 45£ each month for boxing and 16£ for a gym. I am starting to train as an amteur boxer so my boxing lessons are very important. But I am not sure about the gym. I mean I know that boxers do some strength training but they mostly do body weight exercise such as pushups, squat, pullups and abs training. And I do have some weights, door gym, training mat, abs bench and even a free standing punch bag at home. Are these enough for strenght training? So do you think I should cancel my gym membership? The only advantage of the gym is that I can do some certain exercises such as Benchpress, Deadlift, leg presses, dips ...but I guess they are not very important for boxing purposes?

Dude if you're going to box Am just box and forget about your gym membership. Bottom line is you CANT do both if you want to be at least a competent boxer, much less competitive. They're two totally different things. Either way you'll build plenty of strength during your training without a specific need for weights.

Not really. I spar and train with the guys at Fort Galaxy and used to do the same at Peacocks and TKO. But i wouldn't say i'm a boxer as i don't have my card and i'm too old for it now. Although my gym did want me to fight for them but i turned it down.

Yes, you could strength train at home just as effectively. I know guys who have great home gyms. As long as you have a barbell, and sufficient weight, you would do okay.
